Hiding in plain sight
Author: Raine    Date: 02/11/2021 14:06:20

“This case is much worse than someone who falsely shouts ‘Fire!’ in a crowded theater. It’s more like a case where the town fire chief who’s paid to put out fires sends a mob not to yell ‘Fire!’ in a crowded theater but to actually set the theater on fire, and who then when the fire alarms go off and the calls start flooding into the fire department asking for help, does nothing but sit back, encourage the mob to continue its rampage and watch the fire spread on TV with glee and delight.

So then we say this fire chief should never be allowed to hold this public job again, and you’re fired and you’re permanently disqualified.”
Rep. Jamie B. Raskin (D-Md.), lead impeachment manager.

He said these words yesterday on the Senate floor. The problem appears to be far worse than that. This, as I had theorized since the day after the attacks, is increasingly looking to be a coordinated attack. The impeachment managers are making a case that may very well be used for criminal prosecution of the co-conspirators of the truly abhorrent act of violence. The former occupant of the White House may be on 'trial' in the Senate, but the co-conspirators involved must be held accountable. That includes people in his administration.

The previously unreleased video footage of what happened in and outside of the Capitol were blood-chilling. As the days go by, we'll find that the audio and video will tell a story that even those that refuse to convict will be forced into some kind of accountability. Last night, this story broke.
Newly elected Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) told reporters Wednesday night, following the second day of the former president’s impeachment trial, that Trump had called for his help in delaying election certification the afternoon of the U.S. Capitol attack but he had told Trump that Pence had just been taken from the Senate and he couldn’t talk just then.

“He didn’t get a chance to say a whole lot because I said, ‘Mr. President, they just took the vice president out. I’ve got to go,’” Tuberville said.

According to video footage from that day, Pence was removed from the Senate at 2:14 p.m. after rioters had broken into the Capitol, meaning that when Trump lashed out at Pence at 2:24 p.m., he already knew Pence’s life was in danger.

“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution,” Trump wrote in his tweet.
10 minutes. He tweeted that ten minutes after he found out the Vice President was in danger. They knew. The GOP knew the former occupant controlled the mob because they begged him to stop them. This isn’t hard. From WaPo January 11:

They knew.

There is far far more to be learned as the days, weeks and months go by. The evidence is all there.
Many of the videos used as evidence by the impeachment managers this week were originally posted to Parler, a social media platform that was popular among Trump supporters at the time of the insurrection.

(snip)

The programmer sprang into action and began downloading videos from Parler before the site was taken fully offline. "I had an efficient way to download it all. I knew what was there, but it seemed that nobody else could see the value,” she told CNN on Wednesday. In total she gathered 30 terabytes – that’s 30,000 gigabytes – of video, she said.

It's all there, the puzzle was and still is hiding in plain sight. We're just getting started with putting the pieces together.

Good morning, bloggers!!

It was planned. However, I fear that the GOP will not convict as they care more about their political power and not facing primary challenges than the good of the nation and the Constitution of the United States that they have sworn to defend and protect.

I am not sure where our country goes from here. We have one party dominated by cowards and traitors, Can a house divided against itself stand?

Where the Republicans in Congress fail, we should be able to count on the essentially non-partisan courts.

Also - we've withstood worse and managed to get it back together. tRump too shall pass.

There will come a day when they will have to answer to their children and grandchildren for the betrayal of the country.

We have been through worse but healing for this nation will take a long time. Too many are not taking responsibility for their actions and I suspect that we will feel like a divide nation for many years to come.

Greetings, comrades.

Fascists in the senate notwithstanding - crimes were still committed in public areas of Washington, DC. People died.

The brainwashed cult of personality in the Senate will let him walk, but is there a prosecutor or D.A. in the Washington area that might hand out actual criminal indictments?

There is always a way.

That doesn't matter to them. They are all cut from the same fascist cloth.

I am also back from the registry of motor vehicles.

I guess one benefit of Covid is that everything is by appointment only; there aren't hundreds of random people milling about waiting for something. I was in and out in all of ten minutes - permit exams now done at home online. (I only needed to get an eye check and pay my fee.)

What did I say? there is a criminal case being built.

(CNN)The Justice Department is now making clear that a leader among the Oath Keepers paramilitary group -- who planned and led others in the US Capitol siege to attempt to stop the Biden presidency -- believed she was responding to the call from then-President Donald Trump himself.

"As the inauguration grew nearer, [Jessica] Watkins indicated that she was awaiting direction from President Trump," prosecutors wrote in a filing Thursday morning.

This is the most direct language yet from federal prosecutors linking Trump's requests for support in Washington, DC, to the most militant aspects of the insurrection.

Good morning. If Trump doesn't get convicted in the Senate, I hope he still ends up spending the rest of his life in jail.

Oh, and since I randomly saw a photo of AF One earlier today -

It is ludicrously far down the list of priorities, but President Biden WILL cancel the re-paint, yes?

I believe he already has. Press Sec Psaki said this January 27.
WASHINGTON — One of the first queries posed to President Joe Biden’s new administration was whether the president would seek to undo a controversial change to the iconic Air Force One paint scheme proposed by his predecessor, Donald Trump.

For now, it’s a question that the White House has no intention of answering.

“I can confirm for you here the president has not spent a moment thinking about the color scheme of Air Force One,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters during a press conference Friday. Psaki was first asked about the Air Force One’s paint scheme shortly after Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

New York State assembly has voted to change the name of Donald Trump State Park in upstate NY because of the events of 1/6.
