Government is the Solution

Last night we saw a return to what once we had taken for granted. We have a President again. We have a President who kids can watch again. We have a President who stands against our foreign adversaries and stands up FOR the American people.

Last nite was special for so many reasons. Seeing President Biden standing in from of Madame Vice President Harris and Madame Speaker Pelosi was such a huge step forward to really have a government that represents the people of this country. It still gives me goosebumps.



Something else happened last night, Mr. Biden uttered that which for decades shall not be spoken. He looked squarely at the opposition side of the room and spoke the words:

"My fellow Americans, Trickle-down economics has never worked. It’s time to grow the economy from the bottom up and middle out."

I don't believe there has ever been such a denouncement by a President since Reaganomics was posted upon us. Last night, with bold leadership, we saw the birth of a new concept to repair all that needs to be done in this nation.

Bidenomics.

I underestimated this president. I am glad I did. He isn't holding back and last night we got a chance to hope and see what can happen when we embrace big government that is actually working for the people and not big business. Government can work when those that don't want it to get out of the way. That. gonna be a sticky nut to get rid of, but there is hope.

Never forget, there are more of us than them.

I love that he totally denounced Reaganomics! Collectivly, the mirage that is still existed was squashed in that moment and I think I heard a collective poop happening in the pants of the GOP.

I've had to refill my synthroid prescription twice so far since I got it. I should've gotten the third refill already, I haven't because it price went up 400%. Walgreens says it's the insurance company, Blue Cross says it's the manufacturer or whoever Walgreens bought the meds from. I even asked Walgreens for the cash retail price and they claim it's the same price (which is total bullshit).

Typical retail pharmacological BS, there Scoop. Although some drugs do legit cost much, some don't - and depending on how successful the marketing was (meaning, how many doctors were duped into writing the scrip), there's artificial demand and the manufacturer will jack the price for that reason.

It of course sucks if you actually NEED said medication...

And in other news....I have run my numbers, and I am now sitting on my intended savings goal for my major purchase in May.

For the bike I want - 15% down, sales tax, and license and registration, all saved up and ready to go!!

Of course, now I have no free weekends until May 22. But that also means, I might just have enough stashed away to step up to a bigger bike right out of the gate, which is another $2500 more than the one I'm looking at now.

Not to mention the safety and "newbie" concerns that come from buying a bike too big for a rookie.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking about this whole time.. they're taking ALL the legacy widely-used generic drugs and raising the prices exponentially. It's an absolute fucking racket.

They get greedy here because they can't charge those prices in other countries. Think of the busloads of people who would travel from Vermont to Montreal to get medicine.
