Rudy, Pat and John....
Author: Raine    Date: 11/08/2007 13:05:17

Good morning everyone...

There is a lot of stuff going on today, and I simply do not know where to begin. First off and MOST important... if you have any little people, or know of anyone with little people, please call them and tell them that Aqua-Dots™ HAVE been recalled.. I myself seemed to be the bearer of bad news yesterday when I called friends who have 2 little people that were really counting on them for Christmas. They did not believe me at first... so do not assume that everyone reads the news like you! :peace:

Pat Robertson endorsed Guiliani. This was a rather stunning endorsement. It is becoming more and more clear to me, that the Christian Coalition seems a bit, well fractured these days. When you have an endorsement like this from someone who is so radical in his social beliefs as Robertson endorsing a person who actually does support a woman's right to choose... you have to wonder what the hell is going on here? It seems to me that power and control take precident over anything else these days.

It leaves me wondering what is more important to Pat - God or Republicans? But, hey... I guess it goes both ways. Rudy happily accepted the nomination from a man who once said "(T)he feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." .
It seems a little puzzling to me.

Speaking of lesbians... ENDA passed in the House! It was shaky for a while there, but ultimately, the bill passed 235-184. Another version of the bill will be voted on in the Senate, and it faces a battle there as well... Barney Frank gave a speech on the floor that was so inspiring I was brought to tears. I posted that video on our message board, but today I wanted to give a shout out to my representative, John Lewis. This is why ENDA is so important for all Americans.

Inspiring, no? Interesting Juxtaposition when you compare it to the Mayor of 9/11™ accepted an endorsement from a man who hates women and gays... Maybe Rudy was playing with his Aqua-dots... :P

Anyway, coffee is on, the news is fresh and the friends are here.
:peace: and
Raine

Morning folks.

Javi's array of Aqua-Dots have been bagged up and removed. We've saved one box just in case there's any class-action stuff down the road. I'm going to talk to my lawyer friend at the Cub Scout meeting tomorrow night to see if he has any ideas.

And yes, we had to go into our Christmas stash and unwrap two boxes of them so Mrs. TriSec could take them back this morning.

But all of this has got me to thinking...since China seems hell-bent on poisoning our children and ruining playtime and presents forever....why isn't Bill-O up in arms over this obvious first strike in the Warron Christmas™??

Tri I do think that you and many other parents may have a decent class action lawsuit case.

I posted this over at the message board:

Toys made in America

Unfortunately, they're mostly pre-school and toddler toys. Seems that once a kid's out of diapers, he's out of luck as far as non-Chinese made toys are concerned.

Anybody know about things like Legos, Tinkertoys, Erector sets and things of this nature?

What strikes me is that the POISONING of our children seems to me to be more of plot to "Destroy the youth of this country" than Dumbledore could ever be. Why is it that I hear none of the RightWingNutJobs speaking out against this?

I have an idea.....

Could it be the money?

Could it be....

May be....Nope it's the money.

Comment by Grumpymann on 11/08/2007 13:45:55
A good thing to look at. I wonder why the "I only care for my money." crew stands on this one?

Grump! It's so good to see you.

How's the bike treating you? Where do you live? Does it stay warm enough to ride all year? Or, are you a tough guy riding in 20 degree weather.

Allentown, Pa here and I'm going to try getting out on the road today.

I've been cold on a motorcycle in August! I can't imagine riding in November. . . but, I'd agree. They make some heavy duty gear for wimps like me.

I
must find the video of this... From Huff Po:

Maybe Mitt Romney should study his family tree.

Surprised to see a distant relative in the front row at a campaign stop Wednesday, the Republican presidential hopeful interrupted his education speech at a children's museum to introduce her.

"In the front row over here is my niece, Heather Glenn," Romney said. "That's probably not your last name anymore, Heather. But Heather is a school teacher. Are you a school teacher?"

"No. I'm a pediatrician," she responded.

"She's a pediatrician," Romney said, to laughter. "Deals with kids. I haven't seen Heather in, um, 20 years. Good to see you, Heather."

Romney resumed his speech about teacher pay, and they hugged when he was finished.

Heather Krueger, whose last name changed when she married, said she last saw "Uncle Mitt" at a family funeral a decade ago. While she called him an uncle, she said they were actually second cousins.

Though Krueger was "getting more and more excited" about Romney's candidacy, she hasn't yet decided whom she will vote for in the January primary.

"I'm staying open," she said.

Dr. Maddow regarding impeachment:

I don’t know what genius political consultant has advised the Democratic leadership that it’s a bad idea to hours of prime time on the floor of the Congress reminding the country that Mr. 11% Approval Rating is a bad guy, of whom they disapprove and who they would like to see held accountable. It’s supposed to be Politics 101 that you associate yourself with good things and you are seen to frequently and rabidly denounce bad things. I don’t know what weird Beltway consultant dictionary doesn’t have a picture of Dick Cheney under the entry for “bad things.”
