Giving and Receiving Thanks
Author: Raine    Date: 11/25/2021 14:00:50

It's easy to give thanks and move on after a day. I can't tell you how grateful I am for everything in my life. It's been (and still is) an adventure with lots of ups and downs.

Sometimes it is hard, but I try to never take anything for granted, especially when someone shows me gratitude. I appreciate humility when that happens and learn to accept it -- and that was not always easy for me.

I wish you all a lovely holiday however you are spending it. Thank you for being a part of my life all these many years.

Greetings, comrades!

Javi is home - we are busily making fancy things for the feast later.

Your Loyal Trisec has had an arduous year. But we're all still alive. Including our aging parents; While Mrs. Trisec's mother was the epitome of "elderly shut-in" during the pandemic, Papa Trisec spent the past 18 months spinning his wheels.

The Melrose Symphony is back in business; live music is being played again, and he's happy. Like he said, "I'll take my chances. If I get covid from being on the bandstand, at least I'll go out doing something I want to do."

And it's the little things for me this year. After a ten-month tailspin, I have returned to a "job" that isn't really a job to me. It is my life; my soul; my passion. Even as we head into our quiet winter....well, they have found a project for me to do. "It will be forty hours, a predictable schedule, and weekends off." But it's not driving routinely unless there is an emergency.

Nevertheless - there are many drivers that will be scrounging for hours. I consider this to be "fully rehabilitated" and welcomed back to the Trolley Family with open arms.

There's a lot to consider this year. "Thanks" is very personal thing. Sometimes it's the little things - sometimes it's much bigger.

Happy Thanksgiving, bloggers!!!

I am thankful for family and friends this year. It has been a year full of change - a new job, a new home in a new state -- and it is going well for the most part despite some challenges. I am grateful for the people I met on my journey, seeing mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

We have all faced many challenges this year but I think the best way to meet them is with courage, compassion, and gratitude to those whom I am honored to share part of my journey in this life.
