Now, Gravity is not a Theory
Author: Raine    Date: 02/24/2022 14:02:11

Ukraine being attacked is a grave situation, not just for the country and not just for NATO. The situation is far more dire. When people speak of a New World Order, they aren't talking about books written by the likes of Aldous Huxley or George Orwell. They are speaking of very potentially real-life events spiraling from the attack on Ukraine.

NATO's Article 5 has only been invoked once in its 72 years and that was the attacks on September 11, 2001. As of this morning, NATO has bound to protect itself after Russia attacked Ukraine and invoke it if needed.
Speaking after chairing an emergency meeting of NATO envoys, Stoltenberg said the 30-nation security alliance will continue to beef up its defenses on its eastern flank near Ukraine and Russia. He said U.S. President Joe Biden and his NATO counterparts will hold an online summit on Friday.

“Russia has attacked Ukraine. This is a brutal act of war. Our thoughts are with the brave people of Ukraine,” Stoltenberg told reporters. “Peace in our continent has been shattered. We now have war in Europe, on a scale and of a type we thought belong to history.”
That's the very bad part. The grave part?

The United Nations security council has 15 members. 5 are permanent: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Being a permanent member of the council doesn't mean they can commit war crimes according to the 1949 Geneva Convention.

Putin has done just that.
The 1949 Geneva Conventions have been ratified by all Member States of the United Nations, while the Additional Protocols and other international humanitarian law treaties have not yet reached the same level of acceptance. However, many of the rules contained in these treaties have been considered as part of customary law and, as such, are binding on all States (and other parties to the conflict), whether or not States have ratified the treaties themselves. In addition, many rules of customary international law are applicable in both international and non-international armed conflict, expanding in this way the protection afforded in non-international armed conflicts, which are regulated only by common article 3 of the four Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocol II.
If you click on the link, you will see listed many specific examples of what can be called a War Crime according to the United Nations. If he is not brought up on such charges as soon as humanly possible the gravity of the situation will be felt globally. We have history to look back on.

Specifically, the failure of the League of Nations. While the League never really found its footing, what little teeth is did have brought on its demise after Germany left. There is much to discuss about TLON, but Germany left to go and start a second war. I don't see Russia leaving the UN. I see Putin making a much larger calculated risk. He thinks he can get away with War Crimes. If he does, the United Nations and the Security Council are done.

It's that serious.

This is a grave situation. Putin has dreams of empire and is willing to sacrifice others for his ambitions.

My hope is that the world community stands against the invasion of Ukraine. (Part of my Mom's family immigrated from Ukraine.) If the United Nations allows this to stand, it will become meaningless.

Also, the Ukrainian government must regret giving up its nuclear weapons in the 1990s. Putin has already threatened to use nuclear weapons. I fear that Putin, like Josef Stalin, may think of nuclear weapons as artillery pieces.

There are some people with wealth and power who view the Enlightenment as a mistake and democracy is inconvenient. They wish to restore the order that existed in the world before 1776.

That dust could enter the EU, and Belarus.

I think this is in reference to the fallout from Chernobyl. That stuff is well settled into Ukraine's landscape, and military movements will stir it all back up.

Hitler invades Poland, check. Although this time there is no Molotov-Ribbentrop pact to further the partition of Ukraine. Not sure what's next on the gameplan.

The FAA increased its no-fly zone over Ukraine.

Not sure if this is relevant at all to what is happening. any idea of that pact in modern form is long gone.

all we know is that the only gameplan is known to Putin. He's insane and a mad man, of the like of Hitler.

Seriously.
