Dolly Madison?
Author: BobR    Date: 04/27/2022 12:01:47

He's handsome, he's buff (from the waist up, at least), and he's an "un-bought" republican. He's also a first term U.S. House rep from North Carolina. I am referring, of course, to Madison Cawthorn. He seems like an obvious choice for the purple state of NC, representing some of the red that makes up that purple.

He's a bit of a hot mess though, as recent stories show someone with a certain lack of judgement.

Most recently, he was caught at the airport with a loaded gun - and not for the first time:
Madison Cawthorn, a Republican congressman from North Carolina, was caught trying to go through security with a loaded gun at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Tuesday morning, according to multiple sources.

This was the second time the controversial congressman has been stopped trying to bring a weapon through airport security.

[...]

Individuals can face fines up to $13,000 for a second offense, according to TSA.
(bold-face mine)

He raised quite a few eyebrows a few weeks ago when he claimed he was invited to cocaine orgies by fellow republicans. This created an uproar in republican leadership circles, and he was forced to recant his story. It still leaves several question marks, because it certainly rings true considering that party is rife with hypocrisy.

One does have to wonder, though, why they would invite someone who may or may not have "working equipment" (don't know - don't want to know) to an orgy.

All of this is why the release of THIS pic adds some interesting color to the whole controversy:

He claims it was just a "goofy vacation photo", but maybe this is why he was invited to the parties, LOL.

He also seems to have no use for the laws of his state. For the second time, he was cited for driving with a suspended license:
North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn is facing a charge of driving with a revoked license for the second time since 2017.

The Class 3 misdemeanor charge, which could carry a maximum penalty of up to 20 days in jail, is one of three pending traffic citations against the Republican congressman in his home state.

[...]

According to Bethea and court calendars, the 26-year-old congressman also faces two additional charges of speeding issued by the NCHP in separate incidents in different counties.

On October 18, 2021, according to a synopsis provided by Bethea, Cawthorn was pulled over in Buncombe County in a 2009 white Dodge for “driving 89 mph in a 65-mph zone.” Court records list his court date for that violation as May 3.

And on January 8, 2022, the congressman was pulled over in a 2009 Dodge by state highway patrol in Polk County. Bethea told CNN that Cawthorn was cited for “driving 87 mph in a 70-mph zone.” He has an April 18 court date.

Per the article, it's unknown why his license has been suspended. Taken in totality with everything else we know about him, we get the image of an irresponsible, immature partier in a position of power for which he doesn't possess the necessary gravitas.

North Carolina: do better.

I know of many people who use wheelchairs or who otherwise have physical disabilities who were very excited when Cawthorne was elected.
They truly believed they had an advocate because he was "one of us."

When I saw the "R" next to his name, I truly hoped they were right, but wasn't exactly holding my breath.

Glad I didn't but I'm very sorry for those who were counting on him.

Gonna have to cite this one, BobR.

That so-called equipment may very well still be working. From the Christopher Reeves Foundation website:
Sex after paralysis
The nerves that control a man's ability to have a reflex erection are located in the sacral area (S2–S4) of the spinal cord. Most paralyzed men are able to have a reflex erection with physical stimulation unless the S2–S4 pathway is damaged.

Yeah, you said you didn't want to know.
Working with people with disabilities is kinda my thing. So I feel obligated to jump in to correct misinformation regarding what people with disabilities can and can't do.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I hope that everyone is well.

After months, going back to September, my pay dispute with LAUSD is resolved in my favor. I received an email yesterday. It took months and work on my part.

In some good news, I have applications out there and have tests for obtaining my next CA license. (LAUSD should have assigned someone to work with me on this but didn't. So, I am used to working on my own.)

I figured the "may or may not" indicated it could go either way, and as I also stated:
don't know - don't want to know

Aren't you a member of the teacher's union? Couldn't they help you?

If you can't watch Madeline Albrites funeral at the National Cathedral, make sure you watch Madame President's tribute to her.

It was one for the ages.

More Cawthorn news:

Possible insider trading.
The Republican from North Carolina appeared at a Dec. 29 party alongside hedge fund manager James Koutoulas, who is the chief promoter of the “Let’s Go Brandon” cryptocurrency, according to The Washington Examiner.

The “Let’s Go Brandon” cryptocurrency is a digital meme coin inspired by the refrain mocking President Joe Biden.

“LGB legends. … Tomorrow we go to the moon!” Cawthorn wrote on his Instagram page in response to a photo posted on Koutoulas’s account.

The next day, the value of LGBCoin surged by 75% after NASCAR driver Brandon Brown announced that the cryptocurrency would be the main sponsor of his 2022 season.

Dude gotta go.
