I Couldn't Sleep
Author: Raine    Date: 11/03/2022 12:56:23

I found myself awake far too late last night. I turned off my social media after getting out of bed because I was just unable to sleep.

I sat with my sleeping furkids, I watched mindless TV and I went back to sleep at an unknown hour, I chose not to make note of the time, as I know myself; I didn't want to give any chance for anxiety. I finally got a few hours of sleep. Then the same furkids that gave me calm and comfort started barking around 8:30 AM, and here I am.

The thing is, we need something good to happen. Something to break this ongoing geopolitical fever swamp that seems to be heaved upon us.

When the world is telling you 24/7 that the good in the world is the underdog, let's make the underdog prevail. We need some good to happen. It would be a nice change of pace.

Well, good morning.

The busy season is done at work...so naturally what do I do on a day off?

We're cooking! NY Strips on the grill this afternoon...with the usual accompaniments, and some allergy pie for dessert. (Pecan, which Javi can't eat.)

All is well in the TriSec compound. We have finally recovered from financial woes due to Covid and layoffs. This winter and the holidays are looking pretty good.

Javi is still in Florida; we're heading down the slab in one week and about 18 hours or so, not like anybody is running a countdown clock or anything.

I have already voted, and in Blue Massachusetts, the outcome is a foregone conclusion.

"All Politics is Local", as a former Speaker famously said. While my neck of the woods will probably be alright - I do worry about the other 49. "Good" is a relative term. What is good for me may not be good for you. There was a time when we could live and let live.

Whatever became of that America?
