The Finding Out Phase

We're all familiar with the term "fuck around and find out". TFG's administration - as well as those who support him - have been doing a LOT of fucking around. Now, the arc of justice - slow as it is - has put a lot of these assholes in the "finding out" phase of it.
Starting at the top, we got the good news that TFG was successfully sued and found "guilty" of sex abuse. This will NOT help him in the primaries:
Of course he's going to appeal the verdict, but on what grounds is hard to say. The judge in the case bent over backwards giving TFG ample opportunity to testify on his own behalf, but he and his lawyers declined (probably a smart move on their part).
TFG guy has been emboldened over the years by not facing any consequences, and he must be infuriated that he lost a very public case. He certainly doesn't feel he did anything wrong, considering how he treated staff during his 4 year occupation of the White House:
Another big one to drop recently is the news that serial liar George Santos has been indicted, although it's not clear what the charge is, since the indictment is sealed. He should be already in custody by the time you read this.
Also facing the music is the leadership of the "Proud Boys" a neo-Nazi hate group that participated in the Jan 06 failed insurgency. They will all remain in jail for a while, after being convicted of seditious conspiracy:
Finally: not a politician, but still a bullhorn of lies and hate, Tucker Carlson thought he was invincible over at FOX "News", but ended up getting canned for comments he made in emails and text messages. Where does he go from here? Apparently to Twitter:
Wow - that is a seriously huge step down for the former marquee name at FOX Entertainment-posing-as-news. He's not in jail - yet, although he bears some responsibility for fanning the flames of insurrection with his former show. Hopefully he (and all the others in Congress and elsewhere) who pushed our Democracy to nearly the breaking point will continue to "find out" as the arc of justice continues to plow slowly ahead.

A Manhattan jury unanimously sided with advice columnist E. Jean Carroll in her civil lawsuit against former President Donald Trump, whom she says raped her in a department store dressing room in the 1990s.
The panel reached its decision Tuesday after less than three hours of deliberation, finding him liable for sexual abuse — but not rape — and declaring he owes $5 million in total damages.
Trump never appeared in court once. His attorneys called no witnesses on his behalf.

Stephanie Grisham, who served as White House press secretary under Donald Trump, said she witnessed the then-president’s sexual harassment firsthand.
She told CNN that she had to try to protect one staffer in particular who Trump would request accompany him on trips.
“He one time had one of my other deputies bring her back so that they could look at her ass, is what he said to him,” Grisham said.

“But with this one staffer, it was really bad, to the point that I was extremely uncomfortable,” she said, adding that all senior White House staffers at the time knew about the situation.

Tucker Carlson announced that he will bring a version of his Fox News show — which he lost after getting fired last month — on Twitter, the social platform owned by Elon Musk.
“Starting soon, we’ll be bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter,” Carlson said in a video shared Tuesday on the platform. “Free speech is the main right you have. Without it, you have no others.”
According to Musk, Twitter does not have a deal with Carlson. “[W]e have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators,” Musk tweeted Tuesday.

This is what is called grasping at straws. If this is the best that TFG has for an appeal, he will waste his money when his lawyers file the appeal.
Perhaps this is when we see the house of cards fall around the TFG and several others.

It has been hectic. I have five different subjects that I am teaching. (Also, I spent the last month helping a foster dog - a husky named Kayla who is now in her foster-to-adopt home. She came to me about 34 lbs. when she should have been closer to 50 lbs.)
Other teachers, including department heads, told me that my job was impossible. The kids have been awful and I am resigning to find a high school position. So, I am job hunting out here. (The school was not as good as it looked.)
In some good news, I am going to see my family in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana I will find my niche out here and will only stick to high school as I had a school with the normal middle school headaches combined with kids who had the same sense of entitlement as the Greek gods in the Odyssey and the Iliad.

As pleased as I was by the jury yesterday, I was equally disappointed that it was a civil case and not criminal. Still a good thing, nonetheless.
In other news, Boston finally choked to death on it's own traffic last night. My last tour of the day departed at 3:40pm. I did not reach home until 8:40. Yes, that's five hours to give a tour that lasts 1:45, drive back to base, and then drive home.
As pleased as I was by the jury yesterday, I was equally disappointed that it was a civil case and not criminal. Still a good thing, nonetheless.
In other news, Boston finally choked to death on it's own traffic last night. My last tour of the day departed at 3:40pm. I did not reach home until 8:40. Yes, that's five hours to give a tour that lasts 1:45, drive back to base, and then drive home.

A U.S. Army sergeant was sentenced to 25 years in prison Wednesday for fatally shot an armed man during a Black Lives Matter protest in Texas.
Daniel Perry, 36, was convicted of murder in April for killing Garrett Foster during the downtown Austin protest in July 2020. Prosecutors said during sentencing that his history of racist and provocative texts and social media posts expose a threat of violence likely to resurface.
On Tuesday, prosecutors submitted into evidence dozens of texts and social media posts Perry wrote, shared or liked, including some shockingly racist images. They had been excluded from Perry's trial, but were publicly released after his conviction and allowed into the sentencing phase by District Judge Clifford Brown.
Prosecutor Guillermo Gonzalez had urged Brown to issue a sentence of at least 25 years. The sentencing range for the murder conviction is five years to life in prison.
“This man is a loaded gun, ready to go off at any perceived threat,” Gonzalez said. “He’s going to do it again.”
