A Small Ask

We have plans to go on a boat trip on the Chesapeake Bay today. This morning I got some terrible news about a dear friend's family in NY, so I have been very distracted since I woke up.
TFG is still indicted and more will be handed down in the coming days, I suspect. I'm gonna carry that with me today.
Also, whether you pray or not my friend and her family could use the energy of the good sort today.

The Supreme Court has decimated affirmative action in college admissions..
I worked at an almost entirely African-American high school that had regular visits from Historically Black Colleges. Those colleges, which have been struggling in many cases, may become the unintended beneficiary of this ruling.
In its finite wisdom, the court has taken away a remedy that dealt with historic discrimination that still exists. We may see colleges become less diverse. Perhaps colleges can try to remedy this by offering more opportunities to students from poorer communities, as African-Americans and other racial minorities are disproportionally poorer than the majority population.
Politically, the conservative majority may motivate more Americans who disagree with their policies and agendas to go to the polls. We have conservative leaders who are afraid of a changing country. My advice to those who disagree with the conservative agenda is to get out, vote, be active, and make the world that you wish to see.

The Supreme Court revives a case involving a mail carrier who did not wish to work on Sundays, due to his religious beliefs..

So - some of you may know that about ten days ago, Mrs. Trisec took a tumble with injury on a public way. She's got a busted wing and is out of work for a while.
