Ask the Question
Author: Raine    Date: 02/26/2024 14:12:28

The Alabama Supreme Court's decision that embryos are fully-formed children threw a lot of lives into chaos last week. Everyone is asking about the future of the procedure and now that the GOP finally learns what it is, they claim they are now solidly pro IVF.

I want the media to ask this question: What do you think should happen to ALL unused embryos? Sure some will be donated, but not all. What about that part of their policy choices?

That's the question they need to answer.

Morning, all.

Papa TriSec landed in the hospital yesterday. A low blood sugar event, and a fall. Got a nice ambulance ride. He was in ICU briefly (mostly precautionary) and is in a regular room now and much improved.

So how was your weekend?

And I was coming to tell you I have reached a decision. I'm going to have "the talk" with my manager before I head to Florida.

I want to reduce and keep my schedule to no more than four days during the high season. They'll be 10-12 hour days most of the time, so I'll still get 40 hours.

The big deal will be withdrawing from all the "extras". No nighttime tours of any kind, no training, no cruise ships, and only one day of dispatching per week, preferably not Saturday.

I have another job lined up that treats me better and pays me more. I have nothing to lose; if they will not accommodate my wishes, they can have my resignation instead.

Why haven't I quit yet?

A man who spent 25 years scooping up the elephant poop at the circus was complaining about his disgusting job. "I hate my job, I can't take it anymore," he said vehemently.
"Why don't you find another job?" said the friend.
Shocked, the man responded, "And what, quit show business?"

And regarding the blog...

You all know our story. In 1999-2000, Mrs. TriSec and I were faithful participants at our local IVF clinic. When all was said and done, and none of the Alabama Children actually became viable, we gave up. There were about two dozen embryos of ours left. Given the choice between murdering them, or donating them - we donated them in the hopes somebody else might benefit.

So, what are we guilty of?

Nothing.

and I don't think there Is anything wrong with not wanting to donate them either.
