While the orange shit-stain trial continues to plod along in NYC, life continues to go on here in the rest of the country. Yesterday was primary day for yours truly, as well as for the states of West Virginia and Nebraska.

The results tell a story. Here in MD, we had current House Rep David Trone (D-MD) running against Prince Georges County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. In a bit of a surprise, Alsobrooks won the primary by a safe margin. In the Republican primary, former governer Larry Hogan won by a not-so-surprising vast margin against MAGA republican Robin Ficker.

The takeaway for me is that even 2nd-place finisher David Trone got more votes than Hogan:

• Alsobrooks: 240K+
• Trone: 190K+
• Hogan: 150K+

While that doesn't necessarily mean an easy win by Alsobrooks in November, it's a pretty comfortable margin at the moment

Looking west to coal country, it flips the opposite way. In a seat that will likely flip from Dem to Rep (due to Manchin's upcoming retirement), the votes in the republican primary side for were more than the top 3 dem candidates combined:

• Justice: 136K
• Elliot: 46K
• Other Dems: 55K

Justice is the best we could hope for from West Virginia:

In Nebraska, voters went with moderate Republicans over MAGA cultists:

The key takeaways for me are that Republican primary voters overall went for more "moderate" republicans, and Dem voters came out in big numbers. That's encouraging for November.
