A New Ground Zero.

So, about Los Angeles. This is the testing ground. This is where it begins, and it is where it must be stopped. Otherwise, it will happen in every border state, regardless of whether it's a blue state or not.

It's all a part of the plan.
The chaos that unfolded in Los Angeles over the weekend was sparked by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids at workplaces, a controversial policy that seems designed to appease the Trump administration’s desire to increase the number of deportations at all costs.

The policy to raid workplaces, reportedly pushed by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and other top Trump administration officials, comes as ICE has tried to increase its deportation numbers. “Stephen Miller wants everybody arrested. ‘Why aren’t you at Home Depot? Why aren’t you at 7-Eleven?'” one ICE official told the Washington Examiner last month. White House Border Czar Tom Homan has also told reporters: “You’re going to see more work site enforcement than you’ve ever seen in the history of this nation. We’re going to flood the zone.”

(snip)

The raids kicked off protests, which led to violent clashes between citizens and law enforcement. Among those arrested was union leader David Huerta, President of SEIU California and SEIU-United Service Workers West, which represents more than 750,000 service workers statewide. US Attorney Bill Essayli said in a post on X that Huerta “was arrested for interfering with federal officers and will face arraignment in federal court on Monday.” The union countered that Huerta was “peacefully observing” and said he was treated for injuries sustained during his arrest; SEIU is planning to hold a Monday morning rally on his behalf in downtown LA.
Being here without documents is a civil law issue, not a criminal one. But this administration doesn't care. Instead, they arrest people on bogus claims so they can call them criminals and deport them. Bend the laws until they break.
How has the White House squared this? By labeling all undocumented immigrants as criminals, even though unlawful presence in the country is a civil, not criminal, violation. When asked for the number of ICE arrests conducted so far that have specifically targeted immigrants with criminal records, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “all of them,” adding, “because they illegally broke our nation’s laws, and, therefore, they are criminals.”
Meanwhile, more people in the media need to be asking a serious question. Why are Customs and Border Patrol breaking up public protests? That's not their job. Well, it's not supposed to anyway.

NYC was once known as ground zero because of the foreign terrorist Attack on 9/11. Now it's LA and the attack is from within.

Stay safe. Resist.

"In October 1768, British troops arrived in the city of Boston and occupied the city. Tensions led to the Boston Massacre on March 5, 1770, and the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773"

I fear that this will go badly.

Trump must have a spectacle and show his strength to his followers. So, he will be unlikely to bend.

The protester are showing courage. However, I am disturbed that we have masked men acting as law enforcement.

My hope is that California stands strong and that we will have a lot of court orders to try to stop this. The question is will this administration obey any court order.

California Governor Gavin Newsom is planning to sue Trump over the National Guard.

From the Hill:
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said California will sue the Trump administration Monday over its deployment of the National Guard to quell Los Angeles protests against federal immigration raids.

In an interview Sunday evening on MSNBC, Newsom said the lawsuit would challenge Trump’s federalizing of the California National Guard without the state’s consent, a move with little precedent in U.S. history.

“Donald Trump has created the conditions you see on your TV tonight. He’s exacerbated the conditions. He’s, you know, lit the proverbial match. He’s putting fuel on this fire, ever since he announced he was taking over the National Guard — an illegal act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act,” Newsom said on MSNBC.

Yay!

We are hoping to meet up with the mid-Atlantic mooks in Rockville. I don't want to be in DC that day.

Yeah, I hear that. It's Pride Day in Boston as well - the protest in Copley Square is likely to be massive. I think I prefer Waltham Common and City Hall.
