Raining on His Parade
Author: BobR    Date: 06/18/2025 14:25:04

The dust has settled after this past weekend's activities, and it's really quite clear: The citizens of the United States are done with the pathetic gangsta wannabe in the White House. It's really quite amazing what transpired.

It was ostensibly about the 250th anniversary of the Continental Army (the U.S. Army wouldn't be formed until after the end of the Revolutionary War). In reality, it was a birthday party for Diaper Don, but really for his ego. It turned out to be the opposite of all that.

As we all know, he's obsessed with size (and I think we can all guess why). His actions leading up to Saturday's joke created the sad scenario:
Donald Trump’s military parade was an undeniable failure, but apparently, the small crowds may have been due to pathetic party planning.

Amanda Moore, a journalist who spent 11 months undercover with the alt-right, filmed the crowds of swirling onlookers Saturday—but as she explained, they were in the wrong place.

“The marketing material said the entrance was on 14, but in reality it was on 12 St and you had to go through this pen for two blocks. Everyone who was around to answer questions was an asshole, too.

[...]

In a video taken by Anarchy Princess, an activist best known for messing with Peter Navarro, Trump supporters and other attendees swarmed around a large street where they couldn’t actually see the parade, and were promptly ushered out of the viewing zone.

We've all seen the video. *squeak squeak squeak* Meanwhile, millions of people across the the country (even in deep red states) showed up for No Kings Day marches

To make it worse, it seems like those army members participating in the march were not happy to be there. Was there a subtle "fuck you" to the marmalade manchurian? At least one veteran thinks so Note: facebook post In this article (sorry - can't find the original, if it's somewhere outside FB), he mentions the sloppy "marching", the lack of dress blues...

... and of course - the choice of "Fortunate Son" as a song during the march.

Frankenfuhrer was NOT happy:
President Donald Trump was unhappy with his sparsely attended military parade over the weekend and blamed it on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, biographer Michael Wolff revealed.

Wolff told The Daily Beast Podcast that Trump wanted a “menacing” show of force to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary and his 79th birthday on Saturday—but got a “festive” parade instead.

“He’s p---ed off at the soldiers,” Wolff said. “He’s accusing them of hamming it up, and by that, he seems to mean that they were having a good time, that they were waving, that they were enjoying themselves and showing a convivial face rather than a military face.”

As thousands of soldiers flanked by tanks made their way past empty bleachers along Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C., social media users pointed out that the soldiers were marching out of sync, and the muted atmosphere appeared to match the gloomy weather.

So - as we expected - he wanted a N. Korean-style parade, despite protestations to the contrary. He's only about 5 months into his term, and he's already burned through any goodwill he might have had, as businesses across the country are reeling with the loss of employees, loss of business, and increased costs for materials.

Add to that the millions of people supporting "No Kings Day", and it's pretty obvious he is already impotent (instead of omnipotent), and still has a long ways to go (if he lives that long). For now, this parade is a reminder to the world that everything he touches dies, and - like Hitler in the bunker - his circle of supporters continues to shrink.

Hello, bloggers!!!!

It seems that the parade will go down as an unmitigated disaster. Sadly, it will not be the most disastrous part of this administration.

WTF with that shirt?

In a lengthy exchange, with ICE Deputy Field Director Bill Joyce, Reps Nadler and Goldman are denied the ability to visit the 10th floor. Joyce says it's not a detention facility it's just a place ppl are housed for several days w/out beds.

FINAL RESULTS: 13.14 million showed up to 2,300+ No Kings protests nationwide. Political Scientists' "3.5% Rule" says that wen 3.5% of a population shows up to resist a dictator, his rule always collapses. We're at 3.8%.

just a finer point...

So if you work at ICE, you don't have to wear a mask if you do wear the shirt you won at the Royal Caribbean Limbo Contest?
