Did you know that the Junior Senator from Montana is a former Navy SEAL? Did you know that his valor was in question? Montana voted for him over former Senator Jon Tester. He assumed office in January 2025. You can judge it yourself, here:

Montana Senate candidate says he was 'medically discharged' from the Navy. Records say otherwise.
The disclosure comes as Tim Sheehy was already facing scrutiny for questionable claims he has made about his military career.

This was the junior Senator yesterday:

[WARNING: This is a bit graphic.]

A Marine Corps veteran protesting Trump’s War on Iran had his arm broken by Capitol Police and GOP Senator Tim Sheehy. It appears to be a compound fracture.

CNN has a longer and, shall we say less violent version here.
Please note the headline. There are tons of articles worded like this from Mediaite

That Marine Vet appears to be Brian McGinnis.
He was arrested and faces three counts of assaulting a police officer and three counts of resisting arrest and unlawful demonstration, the Capitol Police said in a statement.

An Instagram account under the name Brian McGinnis appears to show the same man stood outside the U.S. Capitol, and has shared multiple posts about the incident to its stories.

It describes McGinnis as a green candidate in North Carolina’s Senate election, a firefighter and father. It links out to a campaign profile describing McGinnis as a former Marine.

Sheehy, a Montana Republican Senator, a member of the Armed Services panel and former Navy SEAL, said of the incident in a post on X: “I decided to help out and deescalate the situation. This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one.”
The charges are legitimate. The Senator's statement that the "gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation." was also correct. Mr. McGinnis went to disrupt. He knew the Capitol police would remove him

The senator, at a minimum, should be charged with interfering with law enforcement activities. I mean ICE does it all the time, if my memory serves me correctly, once they aren't shooting citizens, right?

In a functioning government, he would be expelled from the Senate and arrested for assault and battery. He left his seat from the Dias and made a decision to assault McGinnis. That is no way to treat a vet, that is no way to treat a fellow citizen.

This is what MAGA has unleashed. This is the toxic masculinity that too many men have succumbed to.

I guess we support the troops until they are inconvenient.

Peace and Love,
Raine

Just to further my point, about how this is being framed:

New York Post hit with community note after claiming the Marine “appeared to break his own arm”

This is the sort of thing that gives motivation for mutiny.
