The Democrats are now damning themselves to become Republican. There, I said it. With recent attacks on Specter, for being an HONEST politician. And you know why he’s honest, he admitted right out he wants to keep his job, and it was impossible to keep his job doing what he was doing. Can anyone reading this honestly say that if you could keep your job, you great cushy job with great benefits you wouldn’t do what he did? I know Stephanie Miller has said time and time again, if it meant getting more stations, she’d become republican. Now I’m sure she’s being humorous but the sentiment it true, we will do what we can to keep our jobs, or even make more money.
I’m now going to fight back. Over the past week I’ve seen extreme amounts a vitriol towards the Senator from Pennsylvania, who a week previous was actually well liked by those here, and the Democratic Party. He was the moderate Republican you could get to vote on issues. He was the Republican you could get to 60 if needed. Now he’s a Democrat, and what…we hate him because he’ll vote with us 50 percent of the time? He’s not toeing the party line?
All this hatred is starting to sound a lot like Freeper madness to me. This irrational hatred of a guy who frankly is doing what is in the best interest of him, which is true of every single person on this planet. This need to have Democrats now vote 100% on core Democratic values. Doesn’t anyone see how this is a bad thing? Does anyone actually pay attention to even the RECENT past. This kind of attitude is what damned the Republicans to a regional party. Republicans failed to grasp the idea of moderates, of having moderate members of their caucus, which in essence is the reason Specter had to jump ship. And Now…Democrats are facing this same issue, and I find it startling how we are choosing to follow the Republicans.
Specter is not a reliable vote on 100% of issues, nor would I want him to be, nor do I want any Democratic Senator, Representative, President, to be. We should welcome decent in our party, because decent brings change, because decent will make us look at ourselves and find ways to better the party, and decent will make the party realize that is not infallible. I may not like the way Specter votes on things, some things, more things, a lot of things. But he is a Democrat. He will bring a new view to the party, and how it does business, whether you like it or not, that is a good thing.
Until last night, I had not heard the term DINO, which I got from Olberman. I knew what it meant, I knew RINO, which is what the right wing loved to call John McCain. So here we are…emulating the republicans…again. Am I honestly the only person to be afraid of that? Or is everyone just that pissy about Specter? And that he may actually have a mind of his own, and actually vote as he damn well pleases on bills? You were happy he voted as he damn well pleased two weeks ago, why aren’t you now?
This crap with Specter, is just that…crap. And to prove it, I am a DINO, by the definitions you wish to call Specter that, so am I.
I think the Specter thing would leave such a bad taste in everyone's mouth if he had decided to become an Independant. In fact that might have been better for him to do, and it's what I truly think he is.
yes...yes they were...>< Wonkette got the domain names

I do tend to agree with Noel's attitude.

Mornin' folks! Another day in the office.. and very busy so I'm probably gonna be sparse today.
Then again.. when haven't I been sparse on the bloggie lately?
Comment byRandom on 05/07/2009 13:48:03
I suppose the only problem I see with Noel's argument, is a lot of cheating happen as spur of the moment, not something thought out.

Wait...drugs is illegal, Adultery isn't.
Comment byScoopster on 05/07/2009 13:59:06
BTW I actually think Specter would've been more useful as a Republican, because he could be our pocket minority party vote on certain committees, and particulary Judiciary, to get legislation or nominees moved to the floor.
Now we have other people that we have to count on. Who among these names will vote with the Dems to move nominations along: Hatch, Grassley, Sessions, Kyl, Graham, Coburn or Cornyn? Do you think McConnell will want to put Snowe or Collins there in Specter's place? Doubtful. He'll probably put some newbie jackass like Vitter or Corker there.

I'm mixed on the subject personally. You can't dictate what grown adults do. But would you really want to build your business on the back of something that could potentially hurt others?

Problem is, by the logic We shouldn't have Car companies. or a lot of other companies.
His premise is simple, people do this. And the way people currently do it can have much more harm than a way i can have them do it.
And his argument about making them better partners was heat of the argument, he was scrambling for something.
Even more so, as topic of my post, is that we're starting to sound more and more like republicans. We're trying to dictate this thing as evil because it doesn't fit our moral standards.

I understand what your saying Random, I've just seen what this can do to families first hand. Its not pretty.
Like I said I'm mixed on the subject

In the end, he saw a need and fulfilled it. Not something I would do, but...
*sighs*
Infidelity is a bad thing, but it happens...and a bit of logic, twisted as it is, at least with this site there aren't innocent single people who would be hurt in the process. Now...i know it's hardly a reason, but...whether he was doing this or not, cheating would exist, so to blame him for it is kind of...well wrong...
I was all over the place with that one.

I got what your saying :)

Good ><
But i will disagree with the people saying that there should be drug sites, or sites to kill spouses...there is a bit of a legal difference.
Good morning folks. Just a quick hit and run for the moment since I have to drop the car off to get the breaks fix. I will talk to you when I get back.

Yes...Perez Hilton is an asshole, I've decided.
Mainly cause that isn't really a pagent question...and it really shouldn't have been asked.

aren't pagent questions supposed to be questions that are basic, and the answer shouldn't really offend a bunch of people? You know, like "How would you bring world peace?" answer is something stupid, like "Spread love."

traditionally yes, however since those that win the titles do community service or have a charity they work with they've been getting into social issues.

Oh that reminds me.. yesterday morning I woke up tossing at like 2AM and my teevee punished me. You see my box is set to auto-tune at 11 to Iron Chef, and I normally don't watch whatever else is on that channel... so I woke up to some horrible show with Martha Stewart's daughter and her craft-inept friend doing a bad MST3K-esqe recap of mom's daytime show.

I got my breaks fixed at the dealer last time. I took the car to Meineke this time, and they will put them under warranty because I don't think the breaks lasted longer than a year this time and with my financial situation I have to get the car to last longer this time.
Comment bylivingonli on 05/07/2009 15:57:43
I'm back. Cars at the shop right now. It's cloudy but not raining at the moment.
Comment byScoopster on 05/07/2009 16:02:49
Hey livin what kind of car are we talkin' about here? If it's newer and has all-wheel disc brakes they're pretty easy to change yourself, and should be fairly cheap. Of course, no warranty tho.
If you need a brake bleed, new rotors/calipers, or have those old style pain-in-the-ass drum brakes tho, you're better off with a garage.

you must be hard on your breaks, I don't have to get mine replaced that often. Well I take that back the 500 was hard on breaks since they were set weird

Yeah, I think it has 4-wheel ABS, which'll be all disc. Man if I lived near you I'd probably do it for ya just for the cost of the pads.

The only thing is I have is that I am in a lot of local stop and go traffic. I only get to use the parkway when I go home from work at night since the only time I am not on a local run or in rush hour traffic.

Basically how the media has slowly become obsessed with Obama's penchant for dijon mustard on his burgers.. This one professor at Cornell has created a running update of the constant media coverage - it's hard to tell if he's doing it just for laughs or if he's truly wingnut-style outraged (complete with the whole dijon-is-for-those-frenchie-assholes spin).
