I woke up, and you know what? This crap is old. We're at the point where I wouldn't be surprised if he fills the reflecting pool with cement and puts a mirror over it.

I'm not kidding. He could do it. We are having people arrested for touching the water. Ducklings are dying in the poisoned water. Wait until winter, when the water freezes -- He'll turn into an Ice rink.

So effing tired of the shit that he's getting away with.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

Accountability would be welcome but is not likely with this current Congress. My hope is that we will see accountability in the future.

It appears that this has been solved.

Mystery solved, it seems. It's a photo at Camp David from the 90s. Trump is at Camp David and, for whatever random reason, was sharing the photo with Margo and also complimenting her GOP hack daughter. Combine that with him yet again accidentally posting an intended DM on main, and there you go.

Camp David is a place where he can be secretly seen by medical staff. I think he was there this weekend.

Morning, all.

We'll be headed down the coast for Florida in about two and a half weeks....I'm now tempted to detour just so I can see it with my own eyes. But I've seen on Bluesky that the National Guard is now arresting people for......TAKING PICTURES.

I don't even think Hitler was this mad during his Gotterdammerung.

The prestige of the Presidency has been reduced to what we Millennials might call temper tantrums.

Local reporters aren't reporting that.

I've only heard of the cyclist.

I don't know the source; if it's somebody just posting hearsay, then it's no more reliable than any posts on xitter right now.

In any case - the overall silliness of the entire affair remains.

Just some things to note - Despite the name, the Reflecting Pool is pretty much a stagnant body of water, and it's about 338,000 square feet, 6.5 million gals.

The largest actual pool I could find a picture of is at the Hollywood, FL Hard Rock hotel. It's only about a third the size at 90,000 square feet. In the photo, it looks clean and blue and inviting.

I don't know what kind of equipment you'd need to turn the reflecting pool into an actual pool with filtration, circulation, and proper pool chemicals. That would indeed keep it the blue that the Tang-Coloured Tyrant wants. Looking at Mar-a-Lago, it only appears to have a wee 10 x 20 foot pool behind the main building on the lagoon side.

His pool-scamming friend can take care of a puddle like that. Hell, any of us could.

Oop - and here's the difference.

The pool's water supply system was updated to eliminate stagnant water by circulating water from the Tidal Basin; the pool was formerly filled using potable water from the city.

So, treated city water vs. untreated river water. What did he think would happen?

That was changed 10 years ago when they last did a refurb.

The Washingtonian is trying to figure out what's happening at the reflecting pool.
A DC National Guard spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment about whether the Guard were stationed at the pool or just passing by. Other law enforcement officers were on the scene as well. A Park Police spokesperson has not yet replied to a request to see arrest reports from the weekend. Here are some more photos from the pool on Monday morning.
