The Shame of the Nation
Author: BobR    Date: 11/28/2007 13:40:27

For years now, George Bush has embarrassed this nation. From his ignominious start with the Supreme Court appointment to his antics before and after "Mission Accomplished", along with all of his mispronunciations, he has looked and acted the buffoon.

Who can forget his schoolboy-forgot-to-study explanation of sovereignty? He repeated the word as part of the definition, stabbing out the syllables in his patented way as if that was all the explanation needed. Hell - who can forget ANY of his mangled syntax?

Who can forget his attempt at a "back rub" on German Chancellor Angela Merkel?... or proclaiming certain nations to be members of an "axis of evil"?

Oy.

But he's definitely outdone himself this time. Here he is mangling the names of the participants at the peace conference he put together:

(NOTE: If that doesn't show up for you, you can watch it here.)

Considering he had just met with Al Gore (and other Nobel Peace prize winners) a few days previous, it seems this whole peace conference is a rather transparent attempt for him to finagle one of those for himself.

It would help if he were actually going to participate in the conference. But no, he sets the thing up at some hotel, then walks away and waits in his office for his award to arrive. His sum total participation was 3 hours. By contrast, Jimmy Carter spent days with Begin and Sadat at Camp David.

I don't think it can be said often enough - He's a disgrace to this nation.

Good morning everyone.

I think I may be getting a cold since I have a sore throat this morning. It is definitely going around.

Did the ATL contingent listen to Mike Malloy last night?

Comment by Raine on 11/28/2007 14:37:38
harumph... I missed Momma last night on the MSNBC machine?

Comment by livingonli on 11/28/2007 14:38:32
So did I. There was no notice sent out. I was watching Family Guy re-runs on TBS.

That is a fairly arrogant statement there. Then again I don't like Katie and I am not that crazy about Hillary.

Katie is a right-wing tool.

We took away your mod tools :P

You should still be able to create and edit your blog entries. This register thing surely has me vexed, tho...

Ouch. Was it something I said?

I still have "Create New Blog Entry," but not "edit." No big deal.

So, there's no resolution on the registering problem, eh?

I don't have the mod tools either, just the create new blog entry. If we all had mod tools, practically everyone on the blog would be a mod.

You can only edit the blog entries you created.

FWIW - the only reason you had "mod tools" before was because there was a coding problem and it was a temporary workaround to allow you (and others) to edit their blog entries. After fixing the code, we changed the permission levels from "Blog Mod" back to "Blog Creator".

I will take another look at the login issue.

you know I was reading the blog this morning, and I would like to add something to this strange peace conferance situation. The last time a president had talks with the Middle east like this, that too resulted ini a nobel peace prize, so basically. Granted Bill Clinton was not the recipient of the prize, but don't you find it rather amazing that all of the dem presidents in the past 20 years have been assocaiated with peace and winning the prize?

Today is the 65th anniversary of the Cocoanut Grove Fire in this city.

My grandfather narrowly missed being there; the fire started in the Melody Lounge and all the musicians present were killed.

He had quit the gig about a month before the fire.

I am not having any of these problems. I am using Firefox 2 and Netscape 8 on my desktop and Firefox 2 on my laptop without problem. Even at work, I log in using Firefox and I have no problem and private data is cleared out every time I close a session on my work computer.

Comment by livingonli on 11/28/2007 15:26:40
I have IE 7 on my home computers, but I don't use it as much. The work computers are sill on IE 6 and I've had no problem using that either.

Hope this helps.

Probably best to put it in the BLOG SUPPORT AND REQUESTS Area... but where ever is fine. I am taking all the requests and analyzing them... (not) but we are both home today so we can keep track of everything. IT is strange, becasue I am not having this registration problem. :star: did you have this problem all along?

Wow. I didn't know how devastating that fire was.

I'm using Firefox ver 2.0.0.8 on my Mac. Soon, I'll get tired of denying the upgrade, so I'll probably upgrade to the .9 version. I am having no problems (that I know of) and my Mac deletes my cookies automatically after each session.

One more thing to try:

If you are logged into the blog, then click on "logout", then try logging right back in again without closing the browser, does it work?

After logging out and logging back in again, and THEN closing the browser, do you still have to do the re-register thing?

Error logging in: Either login or password is incorrect
