Never their fault - Ever.

There has been much buzz about Senator Al Franken's ammendment to a Pentagon spending bill that would ban federal contracts to defense contractors and subcontractors who force employees go through a company’s arbitration process for workplace discrimination claims — including rape and other sexual assaults. That ammenedment passed 68-30. 10 Republicans voted yes -- 30 voted no.

Those 30 have since become known as the 'pro-rape' senators. Understandably, they are displeased. No one likes to be called 'pro-rape', but that is not why they are displeased:
In a chamber where relationship-building is seen as critical, some GOP senators question whether Franken’s handling of the amendment could damage his ability to work across the aisle. Soon after Tennessee GOP Sens. Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander co-wrote an op-ed in a local newspaper defending their votes against the Franken measure, the Minnesota Democrat confronted each senator separately to dispute their column — and grew particularly angry in a tense exchange with Corker.
They are more concerned with whether The Senator can work across the aisle with them than the actual issue they voted on. Instead of facing the real issue -- that they are indeed protecting corporate rape, they choose to blame someone else for making them look bad. And that seems to be typical GOP group think these past few years. They do it, don't see what they have done, get blow back and just blame someone else. Classic projection. It is the party of No and the party of blame. They will do anything they can to disrupt the process. Even using rape victims as a political pawn.

If you don't believe it, check this out:
New Hampshire Republican Senator Judd Gregg has circulated a letter to his Senate colleagues, instructing them on how to use the rules of Senate debate to delay and perhaps even defeat the health care bill being debated in the upper chamber.

The letter, obtained by The Hill (PDF), TalkingPointsMemo and Politico (PDF), among others, runs through numerous procedural rules that would allow the Republican minority to hold up progress on the health bill.

It will likely add fuel to arguments by supporters of health care reform that the GOP's goal in the debate is to block Democrats from making progress on the issue.
At least it is confirmed that the GOP is not really interested in working across the aisle as Senators Corker & Alexander complained about in their Op-Ed. It is amusing that they are concerned about Al Franken being able to work with THEM, when the reality is that they have no desire to work with the majority party. Instead Death and Rape are a political ploy for them.

But Hey, I could be missing a point-- just because they are rapist sympathizers doesn't mean they should be PERCEIVED as rapist sympathizers, right? That might make them the real victims, here. The GOP is right about one thing, being a senator is about relationship building-- they should really try harder to work with the poeple on the side of the aisle who acutally HAVE the majority -- and it isn't them.

and
Raine

You get a choice

Right lane - people are just crawling and you deal with the massholes trying to merge.

Center lane - the trucks have worn two grooves in the lane which collect water and you get jerked back and forth as the car wants to stay in the grooves. It also makes it nearly impossible to get out of the lane when you want to.

Left lane - mostly flooded.

...it was one of the spots I checked out while playing Fallout 3. Tonight I need to go find a radio transmitter antenna and take it to the Washington Monument. Amazing game btw!

It was all over the place I spent 45 min going down S. Van Dorn because of lights and people who can't read road signs and try to merge at the last minute

Well, apart from being dumped from Chris' friends list....

It's mostly this deal with the between hours stuff. I've left numerous hints on the liveblog that some consideration should be given to those who buy the 'cast and cannot stream the show live because of work restrictions. No response. Sometimes when I get a tweet of "sausage being made" from Steph or Chris I'll respond why can't that be provided to the 'cast subscribers. No response. Emailed Rebekah. No response. At this point I'd rather be told to shut up and deal with it rather than be totally ignored.

I did "deal with it" when it only happened sporadically. Now that it's a daily thing, I can't. So I'm petty and screwed up. Least they could do is tell me so......

And no, I can't set up the PC at home to record because when you set up 5 hours before the show starts nothing happens. And any "Go 2 my PC" type thing is also verboten here.

If it wasn't the money involved, I would say go with XM they have models where you can record programming and then just record the show off XM. I have to do that some time but I don't always have the radio on in the car in the morning.

Comment by Random on 12/03/2009 16:52:48

South Florida needs a progressive talk station. Come to think of it, New York needs a better progressive talk station. Only one hour of Momma and no Thom, Randi, or Mike Malloy. And Ring of Fire now only airs on a weird delay basis on Sunday.

Comment by trojanrabbit on 12/03/2009 17:20:26
First, however ticked off I may sound, it has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone I've met on here and the liveblog.

I actually showed my wife when she was home how to click the player and recorder program and things were great. Then my wife got a job.....

I've pretty much removed myself from the liveblog. I could fairly easily record hours 2 & 3 from WWZN at home, I've even recorded many hours of KTLK and could easily set up my PC to do that, so I don't need XM. They have my money for this month, but sometime before the end I suppose I'll try one "hate filled rant" to Stephanie. That way I go down in flames and cancel out.

Then again by that time I find a way to really deal with it and I calm down.

I hate you.

It rained just long enough to foul the morning commute in this city. Of course, my building's front door was on the windward side instead of the lee; I was rather moist.

I'll be busy making hay for a while...I just got the schedule for the store, and I'm working every night next week. After being in and out of work all summer, it's 180 degrees for sure.

I'm in the Mommaless crowd too. No streaming from here, and even though AM 1510 carries two hours of the show, I'm deep inside a brick and steel building....no reception.

I have been listening to much jazz and classical over the past month or so.
