Good Morning.

It just won't go away, will it?

A Lawrence man is facing gun charges after brandishing a gun at a landscaper outside a fast-food restaurant, police said.

Lawrence police were called to the Wendy’s on Hampshire Street at about noon on Thursday for a report of a man threatening another man with a gun.

When police arrived at the restaurant, a landscaper told them while he was using a leaf blower, some grass clippings blew into the air onto a black Acura sedan. A man in that car then got into a verbal altercation with the landscaper and brandished a firearm that was tucked into his waistband, police said.

The car was located a few minutes later and the driver, identified as Franklin Mauel Laras, 21, was arrested. A firearm was found in his waistband, police said.

Laras will be arraigned in Lawrence District Court charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, and other firearm related charges.

Hey, at least nobody got killed this time. I'm not sure where I read it, but I'm starting to think that the dystopian proposal of issuing everyone a firearm and one million dollars at the age of 18 is becoming more viable.

And in more bizarre New England news, wanna buy a desert?

Here's a chance to own your own desert.

The owners of Freeport's "Desert of Maine" have put the 40-acre attraction up for sale.

The property also includes a nearly 50-site campground, museum and a house.

Gary Currens has owned the "Desert of Maine" for 15 years. He says it's simply time to sell and move on but, he's hopes whoever buys it keeps it the way it is.

Currens believes it's an important part of the state's history.

I'm back off to camp this morning - Javi is finished with National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and probably would like to come home.
