Punked!

... and also she won't get fooled again---
When a man sounding remarkably like President-elect Barack Obama called a Florida congresswoman Wednesday, she assumed it was a crank call.

So Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen hung up. But, the Miami Herald reports, this was no prank.

"I thought it was one of the radio stations in South Florida playing an incredible, elaborate, terrific prank on me," Ros-Lehtinen told the newspaper. "They got Fidel Castro to go along. They've gotten Hugo Chavez and others to fall for their tricks. I said, 'Oh, no, I won't be punked.'"
I guess the phone call adventures of Sarah Palin have a few people gun shy, but I found this little story fascinating. Although I am sure this is a strange fluke, I am left wondering how many times the pResident that we have now has actually made calls like this -- Especially across the aisle.

I mean not everything in Washington is a joke, right? Right? It's not like Obama tried to sell her the Empire State Building or anything.
In one of the biggest heists in American history, the Daily News "stole" the $2 billion Empire State Building.
And it wasn't that hard.

The News swiped the 102-story Art Deco skyscraper by drawing up a batch of bogus documents, making a fake notary stamp and filing paperwork with the city to transfer the deed to the property. [...]

Less than 90 minutes after the bogus documents were submitted on Monday, the agency rubber-stamped the transfer from Empire State Land Associates to Nelots Properties LLC. Nelots is "stolen" spelled backward.
And you wonder how people like Paulson can get away with stealing 700 billion dollars from Americans.

Yeah I know the stories weren't very political... Seems to me it should be easier to talk to a congressperson than it is to steal a building, no?

Now -- I am off to talk to a guy about a bridge in Brooklyn he is trying to sell me.

:peace: and
Raine
