Remember Me

I'll not quarrel with the foe.

Two things can happen at the same time. They can happen without feigning outrage. We can honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. We can enjoy this holiday as well. So first, let us honor those who have died honoring their military duties.

In Flanders Fields
In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Now, onto the fauxrage. Our Vice President, Kamala Harris published this benign tweet on Friday. To save you time, this is what she said: "Enjoy the long weekend."

You know where this went. Conservatwitter is still losing its collective minds. My favorite is from former Governor Haley. And over there on thatfauxnews channel? Yup losing their ish too -- for three damn days.

What those viewers may have missed in all the stupid stirred-up outrage? Cocktails!

I hope you are enjoying this weekend. For us down in the DMV, today looks like the one to salvage of what was mostly a cold and rainy long weekend. Go out and enjoy it if you can. I'll be ignoring the stupid.
