Going around in circles
Author: TriSec    Date: 12/11/2021 12:26:48

Good Morning.

I am driving within a couple of miles of Brother TriSec's house today, but I won't be stopping to visit.

I am headed for the nearby, and soon-to-be-defunct, Lonetree Scout Reservation. This property was identified by our council as 'saleable' to generate income to pay our local councils' portion of the BSA Abuse Settlement. This is likely the last time I'll ever see this camp.

But that is a story for another day.

I really don't have much more to offer today, during what should be a joyous season. I am instead finding Raine's blog the other day to still be grating on me. I just said it - "What should be a joyous season". I have no issues with the powers that revoked the winning boat. It's our differently-winged friends, that find it necessary to politicize and militarize EVERYTHING.

I alluded to it in my random comments that day. I am ashamed to be an "American". It may be a New England trait, but even in the before-time, we wouldn't necessarily say we were Americans when prompted - we tend to reply with the name of our village, so to speak. And so it is with me going forward. I'm a New Englander. Yes, we are different from the rest of this country.

Probably in conjunction with Pearl Harbor the other day, I had cause to google "Fascism", so I'm just putting this out there with one editorial change.

Trumpism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and the economy that rose to prominence in early 21st-century America. The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I, before spreading to other European countries. Opposed to anarchism, democracy, liberalism, and Marxism, fascism is placed on the far right-wing within the traditional left–right spectrum.

Fascists saw World War I as a revolution that brought massive changes to the nature of war, society, the state, and technology. The advent of total war and the total mass mobilization of society had broken down the distinction between civilians and combatants. A military citizenship arose in which all citizens were involved with the military in some manner during the war. The war had resulted in the rise of a powerful state capable of mobilizing millions of people to serve on the front lines and providing economic production and logistics to support them, as well as having unprecedented authority to intervene in the lives of citizens.

Fascists believe that liberal democracy is obsolete. They regard the complete mobilization of society under a totalitarian one-party state as necessary to prepare a nation for armed conflict and to respond effectively to economic difficulties. A fascist state is led by a strong leader (such as a dictator) and a martial law government composed of the members of the governing fascist party to forge national unity and maintain a stable and orderly society. Fascism rejects assertions that violence is automatically negative in nature and views imperialism, political violence and war as means that can achieve national rejuvenation. Fascists advocate a mixed economy, with the principal goal of achieving autarky (national economic self-sufficiency) through protectionist and economic interventionist policies. The extreme authoritarianism and nationalism of fascism often manifests a belief in racial purity or a master race, usually synthesized with some variant of racism or bigotry of a demonized "Other"; the idea of racial purity has motivated fascist regimes to commit massacres, forced sterilizations, genocides, mass killings, or forced deportations against a perceived "Other".

Listening to that hate radio at work every day has been eye-opening. Again, there are no coherent thoughts; it's all word salad. Those words are -

"Let's go, Brandon"

"Joe Biden is inept and senile."

"We need to take America Back!!"

These people are not American. They are barely human. America was great while it lasted.
