The After-effects

The panic over COVID-19 has subsided, due to a large number of Americans being vaccinated and the current variants being transmissible rather than harsh for the patient. Most (vaccinated) people get cold-like symptoms, and then it goes away. The real problems tend to manifest later, in a condition referred to as "long COVID".
The United States may be suffering from "long-TFG". Even though the symptoms he brought during his occupancy of the White House were pretty severe, it's the after-effects that are causing some real damage.
The disease himself is getting his ass kicked by the "white blood cells" of the Justice Department. By not complying with a federal order to return the stolen secret documents, he was held in contempt of court, and lost a secret one-day trial:
The Jan 06 insurrection he promoted has caused a very real nagging problem. The DOJ and Jan 06 committee have been looking into electronic (and other forms of) communication surrounding that horrible day. The new special prosecutor has issued subpoenas for Arizona's Maricopa county for any communications with TFG and his allies:
In a one-two punch, the Jan 06 committee has over 2300 text messages between various members of Congress (including White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows) that have been obtained by the media:

TFG is still trying to stall via the court system, but interestingly enough, the TFG-appointed judge who recently granted him the "Special Master" (a ruling later reversed by a higher court) threw out a lawsuit by TFG who was trying to challenge the FBI Mar-a-Lardo search.
Looking ahead, the after-effects linger. We all know about the coup-supporters still in Congress, like MTG, Gaetz, Boebert, etc. MTG recently said that it would have succeeded if she had run the insurrection (in a comment reminiscent of OJ's "If I Did It" book). Now, she is talking about how she and several other like-minded horrible people are meeting every week in Kevin McCarthy's office - and she referred to it as a meeting of "the five families":
The lingering after-effects of TFG's reign are clear: Being a criminal conspiracy in the U.S. government IOKIYAR, because no one is suffering repercussions. They fucked around (and continue to and seem to have no plans on stopping). It's way past time for the "found out" part.

A judicial order indicating the Trump Organization's loss in the case was unsealed on Tuesday, with identifying information redacted. The Five Families often refer to five major organized crime families in the Italian American mafia who were prominent in New York City in the 20th century.
