We are now almost 4 months into Tangerine Palatine's 2nd term, and it feels like a lifetime. The barrage of EOs, the deportations, the on-again/off-again tariffs, the court cases... it's his specialty: sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. However, it already seems like he's alienating more people and sooner than would be believed (this does not apply to most of the Republicans in Congress, of course).
As an example of the tepid resistance being put up by Congress, a TX congressman says arresting Democrats for opposing the Anti-Christ
is "very drastic":
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) on Sunday called threats to arrest Democratic colleagues over an incident at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility “very drastic” and only appropriate if anyone actually broke the law.
In an interview on CBS News’s “Face the Nation,” McCaul was asked about ICE arresting the mayor of Newark, N.J., outside a federal detention center Friday and about new threats of arrest against three members of Congress who similarly tried to access the detention center.
“Should ICE be arresting or even threatening to arrest members of Congress?” host Ed O’Keefe asked McCaul in the interview.
“I mean, that’s obviously a very drastic move. I would only do that if they were complicit with a crime,” McCaul responded. “I don’t know all the facts behind this.”
This was a general response to questions about his fellow (Dem) congresspeople being arrested at the ICE detention facility. Wow - that's quite the brave stance to take
His former opponent Nikki Haley actually makes a good point that if a Democrat did what he's doing (accepting a flying palace from Qatar),
they would be furious:
"Accepting gifts from foreign nations is never a good practice," Haley wrote on X Tuesday morning. "It threatens intelligence and national security. Especially when that nation supports a terrorist organization and allows those terrorist regimes to live on its soil."
[...]
"Regardless of how beautiful the plane may be, it opens a door and implies the President and US can be bought," Haley continued. "If this were Biden, we would be furious."
Ya think?
In what one can hope is a harbinger of 2026,
Omaha, Nebraska just elected a Dem mayor:
Speaking from the podium at Mayor Jean Stothert’s campaign party on Tuesday night, Gov. Jim Pillen told Republicans that they “just didn’t get the vote out.”
He said Stothert’s re-election should have been a “slam-dunk,” and that GOP voters — particularly in West Omaha — need to look in the mirror.
Perhaps it's Republicans who need to look in the mirror. Voters in Omaha were likely too busy trying to make ends meet to make it to the polls. Or - they figured it was time for a change. Either way, Shitler is demonstrating his Merde Touch. If we can just make it to 2026, we have a chance to restore some order ethics to our federal government.
