Another amendment gone?
Author: Raine    Date: 12/20/2007 13:33:58

The Feds blocked California's Emmisions law.
The Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday slapped down California’s bid for first-in-the-nation greenhouse gas limits on cars, trucks and SUVs, refusing the state a waiver that would have allowed those restrictions to take effect.

“The Bush administration is moving forward with a clear national solution — not a confusing patchwork of state rules,” EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson told reporters on a conference call. “I believe this is a better approach than if individual states were to act alone.”
Another example of the Bush administration not reading documents. The Tenth Amendment clearly states :
Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Another amendment trampled upon. More rights taken away from states, more power from the people who actually voted for this rule. In the mean time, this administration is doing little to nothing about the Global Climate crisis.

The message here to Californians is clear... bend to the will of the federal government. It is really pathetic, because the federal governement only wants to protect corporate interests, not the environment, which is the EPA's JOB! :grumble:

What I look forward to is a day when we have a president who actually knows that EPA means "Environmental Protection Agency". I look forward to a day when we have an administration that actually cares more about individual Americans than the oil industry, the auto industry, the private contractors, lobbyists money and every other kind of special corporate interest out there.

As you know, we have put up ads for the candidates that we at Four Freedoms Blog most like. Take a look around, and see if you feel that thing when you think about your candidate. Is it more of what we have with this administration? Is the person a good person?.. Do you trust them to be your leader? These are important things... but most of all, does your candidate respect and protect the constitution of the United States of America?

In other news....Flu plagued Rudy spends night in the Hospital.. The last time I recall Rudy spending some time in the hospital was when he tanked in the polls running for the Senate against Hillary in NY. A few days later, he announced he had for prostate cancer and dropped out of the race. I wonder if this is a pattern of his when his polls nosdive.

So that is it for now, see you inside where all the complimentary beverages are. Let's get thru the day with some laughs and smiles... With only 2 weeks until the Iowa caucus, it's sure to be interesting.

:peace: and
Raine
