One of the cornerstones of the right-wing agenda is privatizing everything they can. They love vouchers, as if they are the panacea for all that is wrong with our "socialist" society, never realizing the irony of that viewpoint. They want to replace ObamaCare with VoucherCare, which will not come close to providing the necessary coverage that people need.
One of their other sacred monkeys is public education. They love charter schools, and providing "school choice" via vouchers. Outwardly, they claim it is to allow all those poor black kids in the ghetto to have an opportunity to attend better schools. Privately, it's so that their white supporters who just happen to live in districts with failing schools can go to a nice private school that they wouldn't be able to attend otherwise.
