When the clock struck midnight on Thursday, after a full day of turkey feasting, the 2022 Christmas season officially began. All the "lesser" fall holidays are in the rear-view mirror as we forge headlong into the season of conspicuous consumption. Political ads are replaced with ads showing people giving loved ones cars as a gift, something that can only happen in commercials.
It's the season of miracles, where legends of virgin births and lanterns burning for 8 days with one day's worth of oil are believed to have occurred (by their respective religious adherents). In the modern world, we don't really see miracles any more...
... or do we?
