Ugly Truths About the Dead.
Author: Raine    Date: 05/06/2013 13:33:53

From NPR:
The city of Cambridge has asked Tamerlan Tsarnaev's family not to request that he be buried in a city-owned graveyard, and four privately owned cemeteries have said they won't take the suspect's body.
It should be noted that Lee Harvey Oswald is buried at Fort Worth. Timothy McVeigh was cremated. Ted Bundy and many other wicked people have been buried. Adam Lanza was buried (or creamated). No one will take the corpse of Tsarnaev.

The widow of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Katherine Russell has relinquished her claim to the body.
"It is Katherine Russell's wish that his remains be released to the Tsarnaev family, and we will communicate her wishes to the proper authorities," the statement from attorney Amata DeLuca said.

An uncle told the Associated Press that relatives would claim the body. "Of course, family members will take possession of the body," Ruslan Tsarni of Montgomery Village, Md., said. "We'll do it. We will do it. A family is a family.
Family is family. This Uncle is taking the body and wishes to bury his nephew in accordance to his family religion. According islamic burial tradition, cremation is not an option. Here is the burial procedure:
The deceased is then taken to the cemetery for burial (al-dafin). While all members of the community attend the funeral prayers, only the men of the community accompany the body to the gravesite. It is preferred for a Muslim to be buried where he or she died, and not be transported to another location or country (which may cause delays or require embalming the body). If available, a cemetery (or section of one) set aside for Muslims is preferred. The deceased is laid in the grave (without a coffin if permitted by local law) on his or her right side, facing Mecca. At the gravesite, it is discouraged for people to erect tombstones, elaborate markers, or put flowers or other momentos. Rather, one should humbly remember Allah and His mercy, and pray for the deceased.
Due to the circumstances of United States laws (as opposed to religious law), the body will not be given a full islamic funeral; however, the body still needs to be disposed of somehow.

Why is this so difficult to find a place to bury Tsarnaev? We were able to dispose of Osama Bin Laden's body in accordance with his religion:
According to another message from the Vinson's public affairs officer, only a small group of the ship's leadership was informed of the burial.

"Traditional procedures for Islamic burial was followed," the May 2 email from Rear Adm. Charles Gaouette reads. "The deceased's body was washed (ablution) then placed in a white sheet. The body was placed in a weighted bag. A military officer read prepared religious remarks, which were translated into Arabic by a native speaker. After the words were complete, the body was placed on a prepared flat board, tipped up, whereupon the deceased's body slid into the sea."
You see, after his death, his religion and the disposal of his body was respected. I believe that the right thing to do. There is no grave to worship; that was by design.

A local radio station is asking: What do you think -- should Tamerlan Tsarnaev be allowed to be buried on U.S. soil? Or, is this really about religious intolerance? Is it that Tsarnaev was a follower of Islam where the other people I mentioned weren't? Perhaps he should be buried on US Soil -- a country he appeared to hate so much. That would be more karmic than vengeance or religious intolerance. He could be buried at sea. That would leave no memorial or grave to vandalize.

One thing I believe is that the Tsarni's should not have to sacrifice their religious tradition because of the actions of the Tsarnaev's. They aren't responsible for the Marathon bombing, I don't see why they should be forced to further sacrifice thier religion.

If we could figure out what to do with the World most wanted terrorist surely we can figure out what to do with a dead bombing suspect. Surely we can find a way to respect the innocent victims of his family and their religion, particularly his Uncle, in carrying out this awful and daunting task.

One can hope.

and
Raine

This whole thing is farce. He's dead; what's he going to do now?

As I write this, I am sitting less than one mile from the decedent's body here in Worcester. (Funeral parlor on lower Main Street.)

I am Sooooooooooo threatened by his mouldering corpse. Why, I think I'll buy a gun!!!

I mentioned the same thing about McVeigh and Oswald, even Booth are buried here to my mom. Her response was that people are getting fed up.

Fed up about what specifically I'm not sure - she wouldn't elaborate

Do you think it's a sub-conscience intolerance about the religious aspect?

I think its a mix of things - some intolerance with those that are different, some with the fact of his crime and I think some could be a way to give this criminal the finger per se

And in science-geek news....it's not new technology, but I"m sure you've heard about 3-D printing recently? This may be the first, piddling steps on the road to Star Trek Replicators, so what's the first thing we do with it?

Make a friggin' gun.

I knew about the printers, but the gun thing was new this weekend. They succesfully built, assembled, and fired the thing.

Because more guns are the answer.

The Fuh...
"If we had universal background checks, it might have been noticed sooner that this woman had purchased 30+ guns at gun shows over two weekends."
READ this:
Kimberly Yvette Dinkins, 44, of Manassas, Va., was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release, for dealing firearms without a license.

Neil H. MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Carl J. Vasilko, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Washington Field Division, made the announcement after the sentencing by United States District Judge Claude M. Hilton.

According to documents filed in connection with the case, Dinkins purchased 31 firearms – all handguns – on three consecutive weekends from Nov. 17 through Dec. 1, 2012. She purchased these firearms at three separate gun shows in Chantilly, Richmond, and Hampton, Va. Dinkins, who was not a federally licensed dealer of firearms, purchased the handguns with the intention of selling them for profit.

Filings associated with the case state that the firearms bought and sold by Dinkins were eventually recovered from juveniles and felons who utilized the firearms during drug trafficking schemes. Specifically, on Nov. 30, 2012, local law enforcement in Prince George’s County, Md., recovered one of the firearms bought and sold by Dinkins from a 20 year old Maryland man during the course of a narcotics investigation. On Dec. 12, 2012, local law enforcement in Prince George’s County recovered a second firearm bought and sold by Dinkins from a 19 year old Maryland man, again during the course of a narcotics investigation. Both Maryland men have pleaded guilty to possession of firearms-related charges in Maryland state court.

Say, I wonder if burial isn't possible because of the zombie thing?

On the Day of Reckoning, the undead terrorists will come back to life and wander the earth, bombing the Boston Zombie Marathon again, and maybe even flying planes into the Zombie World Trade Center.

We couldn't possibly let that happen now, could we? It's cremation and burial at sea for you, knave!

Only a licensed Firearms dealer should be allowed to buy that many guns in such a small period of time.

That is strawman selling -- She had no license to sell. It is the VERY exploitation of the gun show loophole.

Feelin' much better. I think it might've been just a muscle strain from tossing in my sleep (I forgot to wear the sleep mask one night - that's all it takes to screw me up!)

The more serious problem right now is this fucktard landlord again. I tried to talk to him mid-afternoon yesterday about the final bill (and how he actually owed ME money) but he blew me off & went out all damn night again.. got home at almost midnight & woke me up bangin' on my bedroom door shouting for the check. I was flippin' PISSED OFF so I laid into him harder than I wanted. It ended with me saying I wasn't giving him a cent and if he keeps being an ass about it he can talk to my lawyer (I figure he owes me north of THREE GRAND in illegal charges for lawn/pool maintenance and replacing major appliances).

I was so damn wired afterwards that I didn't get to sleep 'til like 2AM.

It ended with me saying I wasn't giving him a cent and if he keeps being an ass about it he can talk to my lawyer (I figure he owes me north of THREE GRAND in illegal charges for lawn/pool maintenance and replacing major appliances).

I was so damn wired afterwards that I didn't get to sleep 'til like 2AM.

wait, you had to replace your own appliances too?!!!!

What exactly did he do to maintain this place?

He made me pay half when the water heater shit the bed.. There was also one year when I told him I would get him a new washer as a Christmas present, but he went out and bought a more expensive matching W/D instead and I ended up paying double what I would have.

And the guy NEVER had ANY other repairs done the entire time I was there, but the place definitely needs a lotta work. He needs a new roof, kitchen & living room flooring (which he BLAMED ME for - he literally said it broke because of my 'fat ass' instead of his dog pissing all over everything and ants eating thru the wood), kitchen appliances, carpet & railing for the stairs (his dog has chewed/scratched them both to shreds), stairs outside the side door (they're broken, and he's been sued because a lady fell & broke her ankle on 'em), and the entire pool & concrete around it needs to be rebuilt.

He has all the receipts - I only have copies/pics of (most of) the rent breakdowns that he hand-writes, and that has everything written on 'em. I'm sure he has all that stuff stored away anyways cuz the guy's a pack rat. I'm already thinking if it comes to legal action I can just subpoena EVERYTHING and I know he has it.

Damnit.. where's that caffeine IV drip I ordered!

Scoop, how's the back?

Feelin' much better. I think it might've been just a muscle strain from tossing in my sleep (I forgot to wear the sleep mask one night - that's all it takes to screw me up!)

The more serious problem right now is this fucktard landlord again. I tried to talk to him mid-afternoon yesterday about the final bill (and how he actually owed ME money) but he blew me off & went out all damn night again.. got home at almost midnight & woke me up bangin' on my bedroom door shouting for the check. Take the appliances out of the house.

Then leave them on the fucking curb. Damn, I wished I lived closer. I'd help you with that.

Good idea, they are your property - take them with you or sell them.
I've been thru a shitty situation like this on more than one occasion.

IOW: I've been to rodeo many times. Only got fucked once. That shit won't happen again.

Tell him you want a copy of every receipt -- and then tell him you want to make sure it matches yours.

The flucking swimming pool death > than gun deaths argument.

I'm so tired of this BS. They are literally scraping the bottom of the barrel.
