For the upcoming holiday weekend, We at four Freedoms will need to tighten security regulations for Visitors at Four Freedoms. Being that we are a co-operative Blog, and ask members to participate in decision making for the good of the Whole, I asked for a little help from our bloggers here. I'm putting up a new shower curtian rod and probably putting in some moulding in Mom's bathroom, then I might paint my bathroom and put in moulding there too. Just depends. Busy weekend in TriSecLand...

Tomorrow we're off to see Maria's cousin, blissfully without the wingnuts-in-law. I may play some light patriotic fare on the ol' tooter...

Saturday we're off to me mums' to frolic in the pool.

Sunday is the big day; it's my father's annual "musician's party" that he and all his cohorts have been doing for some 50 years now. We have a big jam session most of the afternoon, so I'll be playing some jazz this weekend...

Oh, and I forgot the fireworks and the Pops. There's a local display in Waltham down the street from home, It's a Friday night and Javi is finally old enough to try to head on down.

The Pops, of course, will be broadcast for all to see. And did you know that the rest of you out there only get less than half of the concert? The downbeat is usually at 7:30, the "National Broadcast" joins in at 9pm.

Good morning everyone.

I really wish I had normal working hours. Watching Countdown at 2 AM makes me feel like a vampire.

I am actually off this Friday. I may just take some needed downtime but I am working Saturday and Sunday. I just lucked out on Friday because of my schedule but I still get holiday pay (especially since I couldn't grab OT).

Most of those tapes that McCain made are classified information. I have read a few of them. McCain did break EARLY on in his captivity. The other men who were held in captivity with him did not. just saying.

And I will further preface this with the fact that I do not denigrate his service, but I call into question his experience to being commander in chief for what happened.

That job is WAY too important. IT deserves serious scrutiny for what happened in the past. HE himself said he was a war criminal.

Had a chance to buy a great house on a private lake a few years a go.

But the person trying to sell me told me they they couldn't leave stuff out cuz bears sometimes roam the area.

I told him HELL NO!

Here is a story from CNN that is a followup to what I wrote yesterday in the blog.

Zimbabweans seek refuge in U.S. Embassy

HARARE, Zimbabwe (CNN) -- About 220 Zimbabweans have fled to the U.S. Embassy in Harare, seeking refuge from election-related violence, according to U.S. Embassy spokesman Mark Weinberg.

Many of the refugees said they are supporters of the opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change. The group gathered outside the building Thursday afternoon with their possessions, some of them with bandaged wounds, according to a journalist who was at the scene.

CNN is not identifying the journalist for security reasons.

"The people I can see right now look very miserable, dejected, confused," the reporter said, adding that the crowd was waiting to be addressed by a U.S. Embassy official. He also said that the group included several children.

We need to regain our moral authority to help us protect the innocent and punish the guilty.

On the presidential election...

Obama is moving swiftly to the middle. And taking the left for granted. He may be losing some - and not gaining much of the middle.

McCain started in the middle as the so-called "Maverick" and is moving to the right, grabbing the base he didn't have (and didn't need to get the nomintion). He had the middle and is now solidifying the base.

McCain is attacking from a weak position (a la Karl Rove) on flip-flops. Obama has been branded the flip-flopper even thought McCain is so much worse. Arguments Obama could raise about McCain's flip-flops are now seen as simple equivocation.

It makes me sick that McCain is winning the message war - at least for now. Something needs to be done - but I don't know what.

Oh, you picked a tough sound there. That's not a Merlin; I'll rule out Mustangs and Spits immediately.

Not a ton of bass, could be an early-war inline (Allison-engined P-40s) or possibly Wright R-1820 radials in a P-47A Razorback or early-war Corsairs.

My fault; I was messing with the switches on the panel and I found the engine kill switch...I was only about 2,000 MSL, didn't have enough altitude to restart so I tried to dead-stick it onto a road. No dice.
