The New York Daily News lists several of the commonly accepted definitions of a depression. The article notes that if we use the Great Depression of the 1930s as a marker, "we're not there yet." Alas, that's not to say we won't get there eventually. But when? To paraphrase President Reagan, "A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours."

why would you want to hurt the bus that way?
Quote by Raine:I think he also has a problem showing real leadership. Seriously, his administration is a mess. When I was upstate, I read an awful lot about that in the Times Union. They cover the state business, pretty well.Quote by livingonli:

 I've had an idea for a short story or a blog-type post thingie in my head for like a week now and I just can't seem to get it onto the page... Normally this doesn't happen 'cuz my writing is driven by emotion over some political event, but it's like this is more a fictional thing and I just can't think how to write it.

Just write the first sentence.... maybe the rest will follow. That's how I start my blogs, usually with no freakin' idea! At least you've got the idea. That's the hardest part.

Eh? What's she saying? I am going in and out near the radio, mostly hitting the commercials. (Like right now).

Heard Paton Oswald talk about how he writes and he pretty much said the same thing - just put the first thing down on paper and they rest will start to follow - you can edit later

I'm sorry I called you a fat fuck, Rush. What I meant to say is that you're a REALLY fat fuck. I would wish you'd DIAF, but all that fat would cause such a grease fire it would burn down Florida.
Time to warm up the Philco and listen to Mama

Evening, folks.
Busy day. Went to another sales presentation this morning for a company called HealthMart....sounds like a strong possibility. I'm going to call the boss-man for a round 2 interview. And I still have AFLAC! tomorrow am.
I was at the store this afternoon; back for more tomorrow, so we're still making a little money over and above what unemployment pays. Staying afloat for now, but the Carpathia better come over the horizon before the chop gets any worse.

Pat is an idiot on Hardball. He keeps saying "Rush is loving this" Well, duh he's loving this. That's not the point. the point is, The white house is trying to make the republican's look like Rush's minions. This isn't attacking Rush. and Pat is an idiot for not seeing it. Infact, he's just feeding into it.

Actually, it's a little like selling Thneeds right now. Everyone wants it, because everyone needs it. There's a hyper-market in this Commonwealth for health insurance because of the "Romneycare" law. This company specializes in selling group health insurance to the little guy. Going like gangbusters right now, the office simply cannot keep up with demand. They've only got a 6% penetration rate, so it's going to keep up for a long time.

The white house isn't doing a lot to make that happen...
Pat is an idiot, I agree... HE just doens't get what is happening in his own party these days.
Actually it's very funny... The Ruchlicans think this is great... They just don't see what is really happening. Rush is manking a killing in ratings over this. it is a business thing... what the GOP doesn't get is that they are NEVER going to be able to touch his 4 million dollars in salary and they will never benefit politically from what he is doing.
That is the free market for you.
