I am Woman, Hear Me...

...ROAR. In numbers too big to ignore. Or, if you're a GOP a candidate in Oklahoma running for Governor of that state, your rally cry might go: "I am mother, her me whine. With words meant to align".

And so it comes down to this, women may swing the elections of several states.

Some recent poll, don't ask me which one - I don't take note of these silly polls they always talk about. Who does these polls anyway? And how? No one has ever called me! Anyway, some recent poll says that 4 in 10 Obama supporters now oppose him, and, among likely-voter women who previously supported him, more than 60% have changed their minds.

Of course, Obama is not currently running for office, so....

But I suppose I see the point. I would consider myself on the line of being one of those one in four. I can't say I oppose Obama, but I have not been thrilled about the lack of "Hope and Change" that has come my way.

I expected a Health Care bill that had a lot more bite than this one. I expected DADT to be in the history books by now. I wanted to see corporate lobbyists begging, not raising money to run expensive TV ads. In short, I expected more change... call me greedy, but after 8 painful years of Texan whup-ass politics, I wanted someone to go to bat for me. (Note: the World Series is coming, so pardon the baseball references).

I'll admit that part of me wants to stay home and not vote at all. I'm tired. Plus my representative is a Blue Dog in Yellow pants and flip-flops. But, I am a woman, and as a woman I know how important it is to vote and not just vote, but educate younger women that we have POWER! Even Sarah Palin, former VP candidate and soon-to-be TLC Unscripted TV Star, wait..... what? Anyway, even mama grizzly Palin knows that the votes of women can change this election, so she's out there campaignin' and being all "Real American-y" and "folksy" and so forth. She's out there doing her part in painful shoes and with a voice that can make paint peel. She inspires me. She does! I am committed to getting out there and voting.... fer sure!

And one note of caution for women candidates, don't take the low road and criticize other women, it just doesn't look good. It only encourages us to throw dirt right back at you. See, I would never have picked on Sarah Palin if she hadn't started it with her "Hockey Mom better-than-you" attitude. Don't comment on your opponents bad hair style or, in the case of Mary Fallin in the Governors race in Oklahoma, say that your opponent is not qualified because she hasn't been a mother! After all, your opponent could throw that right back in your face and say that someone with 6 kids might not have the time to be a Governor.

Just sayin'.
