Aloha Monday
Author: Raine    Date: 11/14/2011 13:51:31

Monday Morning Smile for you:
From Think Progress:
Hawaiian guitarist Makana, who had previously played at the White House in 2009, was slated to play at the gala. Rather than play his normal routine, Makana decided to make a statement. He opened his suit jacket to reveal a shirt that read “Occupy Aloha.” He then proceeded to play a protest ballad title “We Are the Many,” wherein he blasted corporate lobbyists and called on Americans to occupy “the streets.” He played this protest song for 45 minutes in a room full of the world’s elite.

It's time the police around the nation put down the riot gear. It's time. The violence against the citizens of this nation must stop.

Mala, I've not seen "Walking Dead" yet. So no spoilers please.

On the other hand, I got fed up with "Hell On Wheels" and turned it off half way through the second episode.

I haven't seen it yet either. Since they moved its start time it interfers with my recording Once Upon a Time so I have try and record it at a later time.

For those on the Rush FB event -- I think we are going to make sure that some of the comments don;t go over and beyond what is offensive.

I do have a question. Is it personal choice on if we mail just one pad/tampon/etc or the entire package? I ask because of mailing costs.

It's available On Demand. That is if you have On Demand.

I'd say personal choice.

PRO CHOICE!

Don't think we have On Demand with Dish beside why pay extra for it when I can just record it and watch later?

True. I don't have a DVR, so I make mention of On Demand.

Howdy folks...just passing through. Had two interviews this am; one went better than the other. Pausing for a minute to jam a sammich in my face, then headed off to see me Mum's lawyer this afternoon.

TTFN!

I believe that at this point, Clarence Thomas should recuse himself from the case -- his wife being who she is.

What really kills me is that the police WERE informed of what Sandusky did.

The mother of a child called the police, the police listened in on a phone call and decided there wasn't enough evidence.

The whole situation is disgusting. It's not about sports.

This guy sounds like he is really trying to twist the words of MLK Jr. -- I am really hoping this is not an occupier.

It's a very bad message.

Good day everyone. DirecTV does have on demand but only if you have a DVR plugged to a high-speed internet connection. Satellite is better for transmitting a linear signal than files from a server. The internet service provided by satellite is only DSL speed and is principally aimed at rural residents who can't get cable or telco internet.

Afternoon all

Dad's gonna be in ICU for at least a week while they try to balance all the meds and get his stomach going again. We have no idea how he was released to the rehab center in the condition he was in, he was destined to come back. They're keeping him sedated while he's intubated.

Woke up to an horrendous "thump thump thump" under the bed. It was Lucky, scratching himself. He's not getting any better, so it's going to be off to the vet tonight. Don't know what they can do to make him leave the bald patch alone. If they put a cone on, he'll just scratch it with his back paw. Otherwise he just keeps licking it. Hopefully there's some sort of bandage or harness that will stay on.

Too bad you can't tell a cat to "not scratch the itch".

Actually, that's about where his bald spot is, where kitty emoticon is scratching.

Back home now, everything done.

It's nice enough that I think I'm going to take a wee nip of Bourbon out on the back stoop with a cigar once Javi gets off the bus. Might be the last chance I get until spring.

Massingile Douche Solution, Seriously. The Mondo family vet used to suggested it to prevent licking. Works like a charm.

Kitty was diagnosed with Eosinophilic granuloma complex. He got a couple of shots. Most likely due to an allergy, but we don't know what yet. He gets the Cone of Shame.....

The problem, Mondo, is he is scratching violently with his back foot and that's ripping the fur off. Then he licks. Got all 4 claws cut so that should help a bit.

Which is what the NFLPA did.

But the NBA is NOT the NFL.

Compared to the NFL, very few people care if there is a season or not. And it doesn't appear there's a Robert Kraft type owner who wants to mediate things.

Of course the real victims are those who work for the teams, in the arenas, broadcasting etc....the rich fucks don't care.

Dad's being weaned off the respirator. His doctor checked in today and said things are going as expected.

Lucky didn't get a cone, he has a little gauze "vest", which of course he's pulling down. If he persists in pulling things off, we'll have to put the cone on.
