On this day, I would like to thank the members and readers of this blog for your friendship, encouragement, advice and your humor. As I sit here trying to come up with a decent Thanksgiving day blog, I am reminded of what our dear friend Mondo said yesterday:
Quote by Mondobubba:
Blogger peeps. I am thankful for all the support and comfort you've provided for me during some of the most difficult periods in my life. You mean the world to me.

Friendships come in many forms. Some online, some in real life-- some are both. Many of you I have had the pleasure of knowing for more than 7 years, and I hope that is just the beginning. We have laughed, loved, grieved and shared our deepest thoughts here. Thru it all, I have always trusted that the basic foundations of what we have been through together over the years was built upon trust and respect. From that a true spirit of love and friendship has become a foundation in my life. I have met my partner, my best friend -- my love, BobR because of these interwebs, and I have made lifelong friendships.

We have been through hardships and triumphs. There have been hills and valleys. We have rested on others shoulders thru the rough times. We have toasted to the good times. That said, there is great comfort in knowing that you are here. We may not be a conventional family -- but we are a family nonetheless -- and knowing there is a place like this little blog and people like you, means the world to me. You changed my life, and I couldn't be more thankful for that.

Happy Thanksgiving!

and

Raine

And I just got up in time to listen to Alice's Restaurant on WFUV which still plays it every Thanksgiving at noon (just like WNEW-FM did for many years from the 60's until it went to that crappy guy talk format in the late 90's) and at least I can watch the Packers-Lions game before I go to work and it should actually be a competitive game. I just saw the ad for the new Mission: Impossible and now I can only think of Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch.

I just saw the commercial slate on my local Fox station during halftime of the Packers-Lions game. Nice to see a screw-up on another channel.

It was the network slate which goes up when the local affiliates are supposed to roll commercial. You would only see it normally if you had access to the network backhaul feed. The viewer at home who is 99% most likely watching off a local Fox Network affiliate should be seeing their local commercials and not the slate. Even on Sunday Ticket, the NFL runs their own spots where the CBS and Fox affiliates are supposed to roll their local commercials.
