Banning Truth
Author: Raine    Date: 01/30/2017 13:51:12

I am sure that by now you have heard that a white supremacist now has a seat at the National Security Council.
President Trump has reorganized the National Security Council by elevating his chief strategist Steve Bannon and demoting the Director of National Intelligence and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Now, Bannon will join the NSC's principals committee, the top inter-agency group for discussing national security. The National Security Council is the staff inside the White House that coordinates decision making by the president on such matters, in coordination with outside departments including the State Department and the Pentagon.

Other news that surfaced yesterday (amid the horrific Muslim ban news) was this:
One American commando was killed and three others were wounded in a fierce firefight early Sunday with Qaeda militants in central Yemen, the military said on Sunday. It was the first counterterrorism operation authorized by President Trump since he took office, and the commando was the first United States service member to die in the yearslong shadow war against Al Qaeda’s Yemen affiliate.

Members of the Navy’s SEAL Team 6 carried out the surprise dawn attack, and the military said that about 14 Qaeda fighters were killed during a nearly hourlong battle. A Qaeda leader — a brother-in-law of Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born cleric and top Qaeda leader in Yemen, who died in a drone strike in 2011 — was believed to have been killed.

After initially denying that there were any civilian casualties, American officials said they were assessing reports that women and children had died in the attack.
Bold face mine. The question I have is who made the call? Flynn? Bannon, Mattis? The Joint Chiefs Of Staff? The National Security Director? This could be a big story going forward; a Navy Seal died in Yemen and civilians are dead. The confusion of this story and its possible impacts on our active military are really bothersome.

Speaking of confusion, the White House didn't talk to anyone that would have been involved with the immigration ban signed over the weekend. The head of DHS found out about the executive order by watching television. (I will find the link and double-confirm what I read earlier)

The order, signed on Friday at the Pentagon, in front of General Mattis, is still not posted on the White House website.

There is no communication in this administration and that is a very dangerous thing for our country and our allies.

Vigilance!

Raine

Good Morning.

Did you see that one of the last survivors (if not THE last survivor) of the Fuhrerbunker died yesterday at age 106?

I wonder who she was able to possess in the Trump administration?

yes, I saw the interview of her a few years ago and I found her to be less than sorry for what had happened.

Mornin' all! Not feeling too good today..

So now that Bannon is supposedly on the NSC, isn't he required to undergo appointment & Senate confirmation by law?

Morning

So yeah, all that happened over the weekend. I really don't see how people still stand by this stuff. Sadly I have a friend who is an extra-crispy Christian who is a-ok with it. Posting stuff on FB that Obama picked the countries and that Obama wanted a wall. All this crazy crap. When you point out facts to her on anything she says she likes the sentiment and doesn't correct the bad info. I've become good an sub-posting on FB to try and at least make a dent in her skull. But deep down I know it won't cause she, like tRump, just doesn't care.

Yes, it is indeed illegal. It's also illegal to shut out the Joint Chiefs Chairman and DNI.

I can't believe we are only starting on week two. I wish the news could re-interview a few of those Trump supporters that always said they didn't think he was really serious about the Muslim ban... "you should take him seriously not literally" they would say over and over- I want to hear what they think now.
And in terms of "Obama did it, Obama did it"- since when do they care or like what Obama did.

Comment by Raine on 01/30/2017 14:36:36
What the hell?
The discovery came soon after judges dealt a blow to Donald Trump's "Muslim ban", a decision that put the White House in conflict with the judicial branch.

Now the page that used to describe the judiciary's role in the governing of the US only reads: "Thank you for your interest in this subject".

Otherwise, the page on the US Government is unchanged, suggesting that the removal was done on purpose.

I heard this morning on WBZ that Iraq has just authored a "reciprocity agreement" that bans entry of US nationals on their side. I doubt it will have any impact, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some other nations follow suit.

Hell, I'd love to see Canada say "enough". That might get some attention.

They (and Mexico) could stop allowing US nationals with the passcard (not the passport) to enter.

Have you heard the WH's ludicrous defense of putting Bannon on the Principals Committee? He was in the Navy for 8 years! Did a little digging and found out he was a surface weapons officer and then in his last tour, was an assistant to the Director of Navel operations. This was between 1976 and 1983. I don't think that is terribly relevant service.

Hello, bloggers!! I hope that everyone is as well as we can be considering the situation.

Members of the executive branch are ignoring part of the judicial stays on the immigration order and are thus provoking a Constitutional crisis.

I am joining my rabbi tonight to protest these abuses.

Tomorrow evening clergy and lay leaders of the Islamic Center of Highland IN will gather at Munster Town Hall at 6 PM for a vigil of solidarity and unity for peace and justice in light of the recent travel ban. We invite you to bring a candle or flashlight as we bring light against darkness. We ask you to bring signs that celebrate our mission of solidarity and unity. Then we ask that you act by contacting elected officials to let them know that we gathered in solidarity and in peace. This is our message and our eternal hope for our country.

Unless somewhere along the way, Mr. Trump has made them take a personal oath to HIM.
