Morning

I'm sorry for lack of commentary, still trying to put together how I feel about what has happened last night. Publicly I think I'm supposed to be happy something was done about Assad but really I'm just feeling it was a giant stunt to make tRump look tough.

I don;t know if I am filled with Rage or sadness.

I am so glad I had a night with my sister.

good Morning.

Mornin' all..

So yeah. This was an unauthorized strike. We all know that much.

What's not being mentioned except by a few is that someone in the Administration tipped off Russia. Russia tipped off Assad. Assad moved all his people & war machines away from that airbase before the missiles hit.

I heard last night he was quoting Michael Douglas from "The American President" on his MSNBC thing. Specifically the scene where they're deciding whether to bomb another country and when to do it that will cause the fewest deaths.

Morning, bloggers. I cannot say good morning, friends, as this is not a good morning. I am angry and sad and feel betrayed. Our raid did not do anything but kill civilians. The chemical weapons are not destroyed. This is kabuki theater of high order, where this is an illusion of an administration trying to solve an international crisis.

Last night, in the Malloy chat, some people wrote that Israel and Saudi Arabia directed the targets. I got into a dispute over the Middle East and I will delete my account there. (I do not lightly compare any nation to Nazi Germany.) Suffice it to say, my mood is one today where I am finding myself questioning the future of this nation and wonder if we, the people, will respond to this or just view this as entertainment.

As someone who is pretty much a strait edge due to family issues, I may just engage in ritual screaming. We may stumble into a major war due to the ineptness of the current administration.

As posted on FB:

These seem to be the facts we know at this point:

- Syria commits a war crime by using poison gas on its own people
- Russia taunts tRump, asking him what he's going to do
- tRump decides to bomb Syria (after campaigning against getting into military conflicts in the Middle East)
- tRump notifies Russia of the impending attack. Russia notifies Syria
- tRump does NOT notify Congress (or - more constitutionally - get their permission)
- Syria and Russia move all their hardware away from the target sites
- At a cost of $1.59M per missile, we launch somwhere between 50 and 60 Tomahawk cruise missiles into empty airfields
- Syria's military capabilities are barely damaged
- Russia claims the moral high ground
- tRump goes to FL to play golf, and Congress leaves town

Russia is playing chess while tRump is playing checkers, violating the Constitution while doing so, and spending millions that he says we don't have.

Yesterday when? Before the strike or after? It happened pretty late at night here, so if Pence told Yertle it had to be before. That makes him complicit.

I fear that we are at the point in 1984, where O'Brien states that the only goal of the party is power.

Good morning, folks.

How much bullshit can be thrown on this venture?

Trump's poll numbers are 34% and falling. A President has never been below 50% during the first 100 days.

The heat is closing in on Trump over the Russian ties and the allegations that Vladimir Putin has helped put Donald Trump in office.

As a result of outrage over Syrian chemical attacks on the people of Syria, there is media outrage over the incident and demands to do something.

Trump launches missile attack on bases and alleged chemical facilities after he calls his bro Putin to let him know that he was going to do it.

Instead of going back to the White House, Trump continues his weekend meetings with the Chinese Government at the Southern White House (aka Mar-A-Lago), and will probably golf again this weekend but it won't be on the White House schedule.

Fox News goes on the pro-war game like it did with Iraq. It really does act like state-run media when a Republican is in the White House.

I actually caught some of RT's coverage last night, and they really went on the Putin line calling it an act of aggression and condemning Trump's actions.

And one thing that is good is how the Pepe Neo-Nazi crowd who are supporting alliance with Putin (How many far-right parties are funded by Russia?) are now turning against Trump with a vengeance, and they were his biggest supporters.

I guess the consensus is this whole operation smells like a big pile of bullshit.

The only good thing in this, besides people rising up to protest this action, is that Trump's most hateful supporters are revealing their true loyalties.

Would referring to it as the Clod Emperor's Southern Estate be fitting?

In what would have been big news but for our nation's foreign adventures, CNN reports that the Senate has confirmed Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

The Senate just confirmed President Trump's nominee Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, per CNN count, filling seat vacated by the late Justice Antonin Scalia, a staunch conservative.

The vote was 54-45, largely along partisan lines.
