To close out November, and thanks to the link I saw on Mother Jones, here is a porcupine eating pumpkins.

Porcupine eating pumpkin

I seriously did not know porcupines made those cute sounds.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Mornin' all!

If you want to hear something truly demented, check out this interview from NPR yesterday with Sen. Grassley.

I still find it amusingly ironic that one of the spokestools for this criminal administration is named after one of the most toxic & rude sports figures in history.

Here's something from Time.

After the Second World War, the State of Israel was established and gradually recognized ‘de jure’ — or lawfully — by most of the world’s countries. However, although the U.N. recognized the state of Israel in 1948, allowing it to become a member state, it placed the whole city of Jerusalem under international control (a ‘corpus separatum’) on Dec. 13 1949. Despite this, most governmental offices moved to the city.

But in 1967, during the Six-Day War, Israel captured the eastern section of Jerusalem, which Jordan presided over, and declared Israeli law, jurisdiction and administration would be applied to the whole city. Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem has been considered illegal under international law and was condemned by the U.N., as well as other states.

In 1980, the Knesset declared that “Jerusalem, complete and united, is the capital of Israel,” but this law was declared null by the U.N., which called for the removal of the remaining embassies in the city. A statement from Israel’s Foreign Ministry called the resolution “unjust” and “additional proof that the U.N. organization has been converted into an instrument in the hands of Israel’s enemies in their war against her existence and independence.”

Kissing the ass of the religious right who believe a greater Israel will help pave the way for the apocalypse and the second coming of Jesus.

Basically, Shithead is trying to play to the evangelicals who are also Zionists. If Israel's capital is Jerusalem, it brings the world closer to the Rapture or some shit like that. It would also please a lot of right-wing Jews.

Does Israel recognize it as the capital?

I thought it was Tel Aviv.

Yes and no. Some Israelis do, some don't. It is really complex. Most countries don't accept Jerusalem as the capitol. This is why our embassy is in Tel Aviv. Most of the world views Israel's claim to all of Jerusalem as illegal. East Jerusalem is actually part of Jordan. For Israel to claim it because they have been occupying it since the Six-Day War is not backed by a whole lot of international law.

Like both Liv and I said, 45 is pandering to Christian Zionists who want the Rapture to come. That requires Israel to become "whole" again.

The most screwed up thing about this idea is that it both puts our embassy, and all of the people working in it, MUCH closer to the threat of terrorism. And antagonizes that that terrorism at the same time by shitting all over an EXTREMELY sensitive subject.

Exactly. Because Cheetolini is so fucking oblivious to ALL of what you said, he's going to do it and wonder why a massive car bomb went off in front of the US Embassy after it moves. Oh, right, by the time that's built he'll be in jail.

Allow me to rant for a moment.

As you all know I am moving into my new place next Friday(yay!). I have spent more time than I would like dealing the local power company. Since their customer service agents can't take payments over the phone, you have to make your payment online or be transferred to the payment line if you call in. If you go with the latter option, you need to call them back to have your service moved. That's right, two phone calls. Tell me again what century this is?
