At work Thursday, the firm had a one hour meeting with the Chairman. He described how important it was and how hard they were working to ensure diversity in the firm's workforce, particularly as it applied to having more female partners.
Today the COO posted in the firm's private "facebook" page pictures from the women's march in Miami with the hashtag #equalityforall
Yeah - it doesn't suck working for The Man when he's this cognizant.

Good Morning.
Unexpectedly at the store today. They had a callout, and I happened to be nearby in Needham, so I skimmed out for a few hours.
Of course, this puts paid my plans to swim this afternoon and lounge in the sauna at the Y, but there is money to be made.
BTW, I spent the weekend musing, if you happened to miss it last night.

I’m confident that with the senate vote at noon today we can reopen the govt and lay the groundwork for a DACA solution

I'm not buying it. McConnell has lied before about making deals, and he will lie again. We can't trust him to keep his word on anything.

We get a second shutdown, but where CHIP is already funded, Republicans have zero leverage, and McConnell is flatly on record breaking his word.

DACA recipients have every right to be frustrated, but Democrats are still fighting for them. This is a strategy, not a surrender.

Doesn't that have to be approved by the House? You really think Ryan will let that get voted on?

The thing is if we have to play this asinine blame game -- it is now fully and totally on the GOP.

It already IS on the GOP

Hmmm.. I didn't realize renewal of CHIP was included in the temp restart bill.
Okay, then Schumer didn't get a bullshit promise on DACA for nothing.

Did they only do it for the 6 year or did it get the full 10 so its cost neutral?

I've heard 6 years.
Again, I'll believe it when the House signs it.
And if Dotard has to sign it.....forget it. He's probably already off to Mar-a-Grafto to golf.

He won't sign what they just passed?

This is a 3 week funding deal. They have 3 weeks to get DACA and funding for the rest of the year.
If McConnell renegs, the Republicans are no better off than they are now. The government will shut down again before Valentine's Day.
