Biggest audience ever. PERIOD.

So, yesterday we went to the DC Capitals Stanley cup parade and it was incredible.

Of course, jokes were overhead about the size of the crowd comparing to a certain squatter in the White House. It really did seem much larger than the 100,000+ people that were estimated to be there. The people of the region were electrified, providing a joyful release from the swampy bubble we have had to endure since January 2016.

Turns out, those jokes were a lot closer to the truth than I think we realized.

So, I looked into this.
Metro said people took 570,557 trips in the system between its early 4 a .m. Friday opening through midnight closing.

The figures are significantly lower than those from the 2009 and 2013 Inaugurations of President Barack Obama; 1.1 million trips in 2009 and 782,000 in 2013, according to Metro.

The numbers were also significantly lower than Saturday, when thousands of people overwhelmed the rail system to get to the Women’s March on Washington.

From WMATA:

Yesterday was a good day.

(Update: Ridership was over 800,000 for the parade.)

And in more news. while MSP had a raccoon scale a 20 story building, we had a deer story.

The raccoon made it to the roof and has been successfully trapped.
The Deer is ok, and so is the Raccon!

Good morning!

If we GOTV in a big way we can get rid of Comstock and Dave Brat if I am looking at these numbers correctly.

I heard someone from the Cook report say that Brat district is lean R --

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I am off to unemployment in a little bit. Later today, I am doing more interview prep.

So, how soon before Kim Jong Un does something that shows he regards his agreement with Trump to be less important than toilet tissue?

Big breaking news.

As attorneys for Michael Cohen rush to meet Judge Kimba Wood’s Friday deadline to complete a privilege review of over 3.7 million documents seized in the April 9 raids of Cohen’s New York properties and law office, a source representing this matter has disclosed to ABC News that the law firm handling the case for Cohen is not expected to represent him going forward.

I would consider toilet paper to be very important - it's one of those things people stock up on when hurricanes are approaching

Second confirmation from CNN.

It looks like Cohen wants to see the indictment before he decides to flip.

Foolish man.

It seems like a lot of these people working for Trump are having financial difficulties that won't let them pay their lawyers.

Or their lawyers won't accept money they already know to be tainted/laundered heh.

ABC news is reporting that he may have flipped because he can't afford to pay his lawyers.

You'd think tRump would bail him out to keep him from flipping, but he probably thinks it doesn't matter

I guess he's really counting on the sycophants who think that he can do no wrong and disregard facts.

It occurs to me that Manafort might go to jail on the same day that Cohen gets indicted.

Friday looks to be a day!

Why can't people do the simple things that they agreed to do in a timely manner? I need at least seven references (yeah, that is a bit excessive) I've got eight to agree. So far two of them have responded. I hate having to nag, but I I just sent the slackers a DM on FB to try to get them to spend the five fucking minutes it is going to take them.
