No Conclusion
Author: Raine    Date: 03/25/2019 12:44:02

The report from the Office of Special Counsel has not been publicly released. Until it is, I will not be able to cement any opinion based on principal conclusions from Attorney General Barr. Here is the letter in PDF form. Truth be told, it leaves me with more questions than answers, and that is not good for anyone. For example, what does this mean?
The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion - one way or the other – as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction. Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as “difficult issues” of law and fact concerning whether the President's actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction. The Special Counsel states that “while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

That's no exoneration, not by a long shot. To quote WaPo columnist E.J. Dionne, "The words “did not find” do not strike me as the same as “did not establish.” Perhaps I am parsing, but these are legal matters and that word “establish” raises interesting questions. What did Mueller find? Again, this is an argument for making the whole report public quickly." Here is the truth, imo, we need to parse words with something as big as this.

In making this determination, we noted that the Special Counsel recognized that “the evidence does not establish that the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference," and that, while not determinative, the absence of such evidence bears upon the President's intent with respect to obstruction.
If Mueller and his entire team who spent nearly two years did not establish, then why did Barr make a very different conclusion after only reviewing the report over the course of two days? This is another of many reasons that this report must be made public.

It's why Congress needs to oversee the contents of the report. Again it's why I myself will not cement an opinion based on the opinion of a person that was nominated (Barr) by the person (tRump) who was a major part of a major investigation (Russia). We know that Russia interfered with our precious elections. We deserve to know more. In the fog of media frenzy, it's important to take a step back let things settle a bit and see how things work out, kinda like this:

Rick Gates is still cooperating. Flynn has not been sentenced, The NYS Attorney General is investigating and the Southern district of NY has cases being investigated. There is Virginia and Washington DC in the game too. When the report becomes public, I suspect that it will be more of a road map than a conclusion because, after all, this is still a terrible corrupt person, who has very corrupt organizations (Trump Org, The campaign, The Trump Foundation, and Trump University-- Go Pricks!) and those tentacles reach far and wide. This is not over.

Insist, persist, resist.

Raine

AG Barr is definitely trying to soft-sell this. I'm not buying it for a second.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I hope that everyone is well. I am home on spring break.

In the past few weeks, I got a new co-teacher. She left for another job this past week due to tensions with the principal. She helped me grade some of my student papers. Sadly, two papers were identical to each other and some show evidence of plagiarism.

Is it just me, , or does anyone else get the feeling the Barr put pressure on to stop the investigate?

I believe that as well.

There is a part of me that thinks Mueller knows that Barr is now quite possibly obstructing justice.

If true, I do not understand why so many people are willing to trash their own reputations for this immoral, unethical grifter.

Greetings, comrades!

We're off for our last college visit today, nearby Framingham State, with a full-tuition scholarship already in Javi's pocket. As you may have noted on the book of face, the lone school that required a Paid application, and we also paid to apply for financial aid, was the only school we got a rejection from. I won't say which one, but it is in BOSTON and it's a UNIVERSITY.

Potential financial gain after leaving office might explain it.

Also, is something weird going on with Steph's show this morning? I am hearing jingles poping up and sound transitions to commercials on WCPT.

Idk, is money worth trashing one's own reputation and role in history though.

So....Troop 248 will be in the Capitol Region coming up for Patriot's Day weekend. (Tax Weekend to you non-Bostonians.)

We're staying out at Camp Snyder, about an hour west of the city, and will be traveling into town via Metro on Sunday and Monday.

It's extremely doubtful any sort of meetup can be arranged, being a Scout Trip and all, but you never know.

All you have to know is when Barr was Poppy Bush's AG, he was the one who suggested that he pardon all those involved in Iran-contra on Christmas 1992 which killed the Iran-contra investigation before he left office. So, there is a precedent for enabling criminal presidents.

Think about when Scalia brought up the Supreme power of the presidency in Vice. Obviously they have been believing this philosophy of executive power since before Watergate.
