This maladministration is characterized by a sea of contradictions, all of it under an umbrella of histrionics and increasing spite and malevolence.
But it's not just the military and veteran community that's suffering. Texas is a disaster of his own making. And I'm sure you could name the two states that are his favourite targets without much thought.
It's almost as if he's goading one or both to take dramatic action. While I can't speak for California, Massachusetts has been there before. I do not think this country will make it to the mid-terms as a single entity. Abraham Lincoln once observed -

BREAKING: Documents filed in court today assert that officials from El Salvador told the United Nations that it "facilitated the use of the Salvadoran prison infrastructure" by the U.S. but that "the jurisdiction and legal responsibility for these persons lie exclusively with the" U.S.

Ted Cruz could have booked numerous flights from Greece to Texas before the one he boarded—despite his office claiming he came home from his European vacation “as fast as humanly possible.”
The Daily Beast’s newsletter The Swamp revealed Monday how Cruz was caught touring the Parthenon in Athens, Greece, 24 hours after the Guadalupe River burst its banks, sweeping away dozens of lives in an unspeakable horror whose full effects are still unfolding.

I am saddened for the victims in the Texas flooding and their families. I think that we need to have emergency services adequately funded. We may never know the full story of what lead to this tragedy but better warning systems might have helped save lives.
As a former Los Angeleno, I am proud of the protests against ICE. The actions in MacArthur Park show that this is all about imaging. Why don't we just have ICE arrest those business leaders whose companies hire undocumented workers, as Thom Hartmann mentioned used to happen. Wait, that might cut into GOP campaign donations. To quote the late, great Gilda Radnder "Nevermind!"
The people of Los Angeles are rejecting this propaganda show. Let us hope that freedom will ring through out this land as the voices of those defending democratic principals ring out.

This may be a game changer. If I was a lawyer representing someone deported to one of these prisons, I would react as if I had received the best birthday present ever. I wait to hear the legal analysis on this.
