Injustice is Here
Author: Raine    Date: 01/19/2026 14:25:25

Today, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. I'm left with a feeling of profound sadness. His legacy, as well as all the civil rights advances, are being removed. I also feel a sense of hope. We are in uncharted territory, this is true. But when I watched this, I felt like, yes, we can get out of this.

These people were beaten, killed, and jailed. They marched on for justice. We can not just get through this, but we need to make things better. Straightening the Ship will take a while (again). We just need to do the work and be patient, but resolute.

“I am in Birmingham because injustice is here. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

- MLK Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail

Greetings, comrades!

How are we in this glorious worker's paradise today?

I am at long last back to work at Bentley tomorrow. We're digging out from a wee bit of snow here today.

Fortunately, Yankee Bus came through in a way it did not during the crisis last summer. I worked full-time during the holiday break. Doing something I'm rather fond of, actually.

It's a new contract and a premium assignment; only the best drivers in the fleet were even considered for it. I drove it on the sixth day. (And then I rested.)

*ducks incoming brick*

Hello, bloggers!!!

The current situation is dire. Yet, I still agree with Dr. King: "the arc of the moral universe is long but ultimately bends towards justice."

In some good news, I am back to work. Also, my physical therapy starts this week.
