Injustice is Here Author: RaineDate:01/19/2026 14:25:25
Today, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. I'm left with a feeling of profound sadness. His legacy, as well as all the civil rights advances, are being removed. I also feel a sense of hope. We are in uncharted territory, this is true. But when I watched this, I felt like, yes, we can get out of this.
These people were beaten, killed, and jailed. They marched on for justice. We can not just get through this, but we need to make things better. Straightening the Ship will take a while (again). We just need to do the work and be patient, but resolute.
“I am in Birmingham because injustice is here. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
