Priming the Pump, part 2

Primary season continues, with elections yesterday in Maine, South Carolina, Nevada, and North Dakota. Let's see how they fared...

Maine:
As expected, Graham Platner won the Democratic nomination for the Senate seat the Susan Collins (R-ME) currently holds. What may not have been expected is that it was by a landslide (72% of the vote). The race for governor is much closer with 3 candidates all in the mid 20% range. The same goes for the House seat that's up for grabs.

South Carolina:
Lindsey Graham was able to defend his seat from challenger Mark Lynch, and will move on to the General wear he'll likely beat the Dem challenger. For governor, Pamela Evette beat several other candidates, including Nancy Mace, who had to give up her U.S. House seat to run. Buh-bye Nancy.

North Dakota:
In North Dakota, there is no U.S. Senate up for grabs. For the House, democrat Trygve Hammer is running uncontested. On the Republican side, incumbent Julie Fedorchak handily beat her one challenger, capturing about 73% of the vote.

Nevada:
Just like ND, there is no Senate seat up for grabs in Nevada. There are 4 House seats, with multiple people in both parties running in most of the districts. There were no marquee winners or losers there. Current governor Joseph Lombardo handily won reelection within his party. Democrat Aaron Ford won the Dem nomination to try to outseat him in November. What will make this interesting is that both parties got essentially the same number of voters participating.

Next week: Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I am not surprised that Nancy Mace lost. It seens that any efforts to deviate from Trump's dictates is the kiss of death in the GOP.
