Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution:
Tonite, the pResident will give his final State of the Union Address to a Joint Session of congress. Final. Can you say that with me? This is the last time George W. Bush will give a SOTU address!

Ladies and Gentlemen. The state of our union is in trouble. It pains me to say this, but after 7 years , as progressives, as liberal, as activists, and people who wanted to stop all the damage that has been done to this country, after being mocked by the right wing as loons, and extremists, it pains me to say... We were right all along. I really wanted to be wrong.

This man has treated the constitution as tho it were just a piece of paper. He has endorsed torture. He spies on Americans. He has people arrested on bogus charges. He lied us into pre-emptive war. He outs CIA agents. When we screamed, we were told to sit down and shut up. WE were told we were wrong. WE were right.

His domestic policy has been all but non-existant. The Economy is flailing, our Children's is NOT learning, teachers are being laid off because of NCLB all over the coutnry, and students are dropping out of school. We have no real energy policy, with the exception of begging the Saudi's to drop the price of oil for us. New Orleans is still a mess. The price of food has skyrocketed. Health care costs are out of control. When we screamed, we were told to sit down and shut up. WE were told we were wrong. WE were right.

These are just a few things that this president did not take care of in the 7 years he was being the war president. And yet tonite, he will be pushing To have his *Big Ideas* finished before the end of his term.
Big Ideas? Like What? Some moments fom Past SOTU given by Bush:

• 2002: Bush warns that states like Iraq, Iran and North Korea constitute an "axis of evil" that is arming to threaten world peace.


• 2003: Building his case for war in Iraq, Bush says, "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson publicly disputes Bush's statement in a newspaper column that precipitates the unmasking of his wife, former CIA employee Valerie Plame. The administration later acknowledged Bush's statement was unsubstantiated.


• 2004: Of Saddam Hussein, Bush says, "The once all-powerful ruler of Iraq was found in a hole and now sits in a prison cell."


• 2005: Bush challenges a hesitant Congress to change Social Security because it is "headed toward bankruptcy."


• 2006: In an unscripted moment, antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a fallen solider, is taken into custody by police after causing a disruption in the House visitors gallery just before Bush speaks.


• Democrats stand and cheer when Bush scolds Congress for not acting on his Social Security proposal. Unfazed, Bush wages his finger and continues, saying, "The rising cost of entitlements is a problem that is not going away."


• 2007: Recognizing Rep. Nancy Pelosi's new job as speaker of the House, Bush says he has the privilege of being the first president to begin the State of the Union message with the words "Madam Speaker."

And so now this year, he plans to push more of his big ideas. Oh-- for the day when we have a president who can speak with eloquence, act with decisivness, care for our people, OUR american people, cherish the constitution, and give us real security by making AMERICA great again. Oh-- for a president that does not want war.

Tonite, when you watch, if you can watch, remember, that with every word out of his mouth we are a nation getting closer and closer to a more perfect Union, it will happen when he leaves the White House for for good.
