Smart like a Fox
Author: velveeta jones    Date: 11/27/2011 14:21:38

Yet another poll is out telling us how uninformed me and my friends who watch Fox News are. I don't understand how they are not getting the info?! Fox is known for its fabulous breaking-news "Sting", bright flashing lights and graphics that are hypnotic (in red, white and blue, no less), and perky straight-as-a-metal-rod-up-their-ass talking heads who look at us sternly so as to get our attention. If that is not enough, there are headlines scrolling below and sometimes on the side of our screen.

So how can Fox viewers still not be getting the information?

I sense a conspiracy here.

The poll was done by Fairleigh Dickinson University which I've never heard of. I think they may be fake. FDU? Really? I think they are as fake as Fordham University (FU). Hahahaha. Funny. It must be a total prank; but I'll play along.

So here is what FDU (snicker) has to say from its "report":
According to the latest results from Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind Poll, some news sources make us less likely to know what’s going on in the world. In the most recent study, the poll asked New Jerseyans about current events at home and abroad, and from what sources – if any – they get their information. The conclusion: Sunday morning news shows do the most to help people learn about current events, while some outlets, especially Fox News, lead people to be even less informed than those who say they don’t watch any news at all.

The poll claims that Fox watchers are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government than those who watch no news at all. And that Fox News watchers are also 6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government than those who watch no news.

But how do they not know what's going on? Look, here is what Glenn Beck said about Egypt back in January:
Now, I don't know if you've notice the cries of the media, saying that this Egyptian revolt is pro-democracy. But I can't think of anything that is more laughable. It is not pro-democracy.

Now, maybe it - maybe it is for some. I mean, the people have been abused by a brutal dictator. That is true, and I stand with people of Egypt that they're being played. Some said that this is like the Berlin Wall, but it's not.

This isn't about freedom or democracy for the power players. We've seen all of this before, and the useful idiots that the students played in 1979 - in 1979, under the iron fist of the U.S.-supported shah of Iran. Just like here.

And even here at home, Fox informs it's viewers. Why, just the other day Fox's Todd Starnes tweeted that the Occupy protesters should be called domestic terrorists.

Is this "report" saying that Fox viewers don't believe in Global Warming? Not true! They most certainly DO believe in it.... they believe it doesn't exist and it's nothing more than a progressive "hoax" as Sean Hannity called it. He also said this about a report back in Feb. 2010.
And tonight's "Meltdown" is brought to you by Phil Jones, the scientist at the center of the ClimateGate scandal. Believe it or not, the scandal is bigger than you think.

Now keep in mind that Jones' findings have been used for years to bolster the U.N.'s findings on climate change. Now, in an interview with the BBC over the weekend Jones admitted that there has been no statistically significant warming since 1995, that the world may have been warmer in Medieval Times, that is to say up until now, which would undermine the theory of this manmade global warming all together. And that warming in recent times mirrors warming patterns from pre-industrial periods.

As you can see, I'm getting Fair and Balanced news, so how can you say I'm not informed?

Now, I'd love to write more, but I really have to go plan my vacation to Syria and Yemen.
