Good Morning.

I'm off in a bit for more trail-clearing work with Mr. Bean. We're gearing up for peak retail season, and unfortunately I have already seen early signs of the fat man.

On a side note, how's he going to get all plump and jolly if he skips Thanksgiving Dinner, but I digress.

I've just spent the last half-hour or so skimming my usual haunts looking for something to write about this morning. I remain un-inspired.


It's a hell of a rut we all seem to be in...looking over the last few weeks of blog, it's all the same. I don't have to enumerate them, but just thinking about healthcare, voting issues, women's rights, the GOP self-destructing, and a whole host of other things is kinda making my eyes glaze over. (Caveat; not the issues - the thought of writing about them again.)

But then I think we've been here before. It always feels like such a letdown after any election cycle, whether or not our side has won anything. Pumping this stuff out on a daily basis isn't easy, I think we can all agree.

So what do we talk about today? I have slowly but surely started planning our Thanksgiving menu. Last year, I was actively on chemo, so we stayed home. Of course, I cooked for everyone anyway. Somewhere along the way I realized that this was perhaps the first major holiday I've had in my own house since we were married.

I rather liked it.

So, we're doing it again this year. Any thoughts....do you stay home, do you travel, and then do you do a "traditional" American thanksgiving with all the trimmings, or something more esoteric?

Of course, I am the TriSec. While I have a perfectly serviceable oven in my kitchen, I want to give this a try. I've done it camping; it's astonishing.
