Remember Me

The arc is long.

Summer 0f 2020 was a long hot season filled with lockdowns, protests, and deep uncertainty. In the wake of the murder of Goerge Floyd, Brianna Taylor, and many other people of color, police reform and racial equality was at the forefront of most of the nation and even the world. Social Justice was on everyone's mind.

Fast forward to this summer. We have vaccines. The country is opening up. The arc of justice is still long, and it's still being sought.

This summer, it's filled with a backlash of white supremacists, unlike anything I have ever witnessed in my life. They are openly rooting for the demise of this country because for them -- another person's equality means they lose some of their privileges. The sad part is that they don't see that in themselves.

This summer, there is toxicity in the air. I don't like it. I am apprehensive as to where this is going. I hope it won't lead to a winter of discontent.

That's all I have for today. Welcome to a new week.

Peace & Love,
