This will be my last chance to write a regular blog before the midterm elections next week. My next blog will either be a celebration or a post-mortem (hopefully, the former). How things end up are contingent on 3 things: The success of voter suppression tactics, the success of vote tampering, and voter turnout.

Good Morning.

Although the good people of Pittsburgh are not officially veterans of war, the community there has suffered an attack no less violent than any act of war. It would be a 'normal' thing for the President of the United States to visit and offer comfort and succor. Except this is not normal times.

Heartbroken

Good morning. I have a very particular subject in mind today for the blog. Having said that, I found that while researching it last night and more this morning, it is going to take a few more days to put it all together. It's about the 'rebel' flag and I hope to have it together by Wednesday.

For now, all I can say with clarity is that I am heartbroken with the events of last week and the murder of 11 people on Saturday. Last week, I mentioned that the mail bombs reminded me of the DC Snipers back in 2001. This morning WTOP has an exclusive interview with the man who was the Montgomery County, MD police chief at the time, Charles Moose. He's not as optimistic, but rather, realistic.
