All work, no news.

Good morning.

It's the end of my first week driving a tour bus. It's been interesting, to say the least. I've been the 5pm trolley every day this week, which makes for a very long evening. One of the dispatchers chalked it up to "luck of the draw", but another was more apologetic and promised to try to balance it out over the next week. I can't really complain; I'm the newbie and I'll expect all the crap assignments for a while.

Otherwise, it's going the way I expected - it's been fun, and I am literally taking home daypacks full of money every day. It's "Sail Boston" this coming week, so it's going to be crazy.

Today I'd like to share some cute baby goats. Why baby goats? Well... lets just say I have a feeling someone *coughJaredcough* is being set up as a scapegoat for this poor excuse of an administration. Don't get me wrong, this person *coughJaredcough* is most likely guilty as sin, but looks like they might fall so that the giant orange toddler can still try to be the king we never wanted.

It's too hard to write something meaningful on a tablet in a hotel room, so this will have to do for today. Hopefully today is a bit quieter than yesterday.

Craziness

Yesterday Jeff Sessions took his elfin little self to Congress to testify. He spent the time being fawned over by Republicans and "conveniently" forgetting everything that happened when questioned by Democrats (and Republicans with a smidge of integrity). How does one get to that level in our government while managing to forget everything?

This morning, there was a shooting at a ball field about a mile from our house. It's located between a YMCA and the dog park where we take our dogs. There was a congressional softball team practicing that were the apparent targets. According to news reports, "dozens of shots" were fired, injuring four people. One of them was House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA); another one apparently was a security officer. The shooter is supposedly in custody. I am certain this story will develop more fully throughout the day.

Good Morning.

I honestly don't know what to make of our first story today. Military Daily News usually plays it fairly straight, but I find something very irritating here.

The headline is "Compared to George W. Bush and Obama, Trump Doesn't Micromanage". However, when you read the story...

Good Evening.

I'm just back from weekend 2 of another Woodbadge experience. Our finely-tuned staff matriculated another 30 highly trained Scout leaders to return to their home units and make their programs better for their Scouts.

Looking Beyond the Circus

Yesterday was the warm-up act, the opening band for the Big Show. Some were disappointed with the lack of revelations from Coats and Rogers (which sounds like a 70s folk duo), but there were plenty of things NOT said that indicate trouble in paradise. Today, though is what everyone has been waiting for: an unrestrained-by-his-job Comey testifying before Congress. The country as a whole - but DC in particular - is getting ready for it's big wonkgasm.

I suspect a lot of folks will be disappointed, because the only thing Comey will be able to testify to is obstruction of justice by tRump (which should be enough to get him impeached). Most of the Russia-related details will likely still be considered classified, and will have to be relegated to a secure meeting.
