Honor: A Memorial
Author: Raine    Date: 05/30/2016 15:51:21

Every Memorial Day for the past few decades, a thing called Rolling Thunder comes to DC.

I was going to write about the GOP nominee's appearance at the rally. Then I stumbled across this article.

All is forgiven?
Author: TriSec    Date: 05/28/2016 12:36:21

Good Morning.

Prince has been dead a month, and I haven't written about it in a number of weeks now.

The day after he passed, I received an unsolicited text containing a few keywords that I won't share, but I recognized who it was from.

I mulled it over for about an hour, then I replied back, "Is it thee?" and the sender replied in the affirmative.

I have a feeling Ms. Mala is enjoying an extra long weekend.

At least I hope she is! So, here is a cute picture:

A Hate Campaign
Author: BobR    Date: 05/25/2016 14:49:33

The motto of Atlanta, GA is "the city too busy to hate". While that may not always play out in practice, at least they are making an effort to identify a problem and work towards changing it. America has never been a country too busy to hate, although we've made steps over the decades in the right general direction. Certain types of institutional bigotry have been tamped down (made illegal in some cases), although never eliminated.

One of the horrifying aspects of the T-Rump candidacy is how his blatant pandering to the xenophobes, homophobes, and assorted bigots has riled up and - in their minds - legitimized their poisoned point of view. We've seen it bubbling up at T-Rump rallies, with minorities being assaulted by rally attendees. It seems that in general life, the haters are feeling emboldened to let their freak flag fly.

Ask A Vet
Author: TriSec    Date: 05/24/2016 01:47:49

Good Morning.

It's been a couple of weeks since I started this "Monday Night Writing" experiment. I certainly feel far less rushed trying to bash together something meaningful, and it certainly seems like I can devote a few more words than just a framework around the stories I've pulled. What say you all?

Something to Ponder
Author: velveeta jones    Date: 05/22/2016 16:26:07

It's an open blog today. But I want to lay to rest this issue that Mr. Trump is not a multi multi multi Billionaire. I just don't understand why people want to lie; perhaps his honesty is so off putting and refreshing in politics that the media and pundits are shocked and must attack him.

Does TriSec want President Trump?
Author: TriSec    Date: 05/21/2016 11:38:29

Well, no actually.

I'm a big enough student of history to see which way we're going with this. I'd like to think that the electorate is smart enough to see through the demagoguery and make the better selection for America's future, but I'm not convinced that will happen.

It's interesting to me, at least, to ponder what kind of a disaster awaits these United States under a Trump presidency. It's a parlor game at this point, but I wonder what a couple of key things might look like with Mr. Trump in the oval office?
